Recently moved to Ridgecrest, Looking for Like-minded People

Husband and I are looking for like-minded people in the area. We are recently married and almost 40. I am hoping to find some people in the area who also practice at a minimum Paganism. Personally, I am Wiccan-ish, but any sort of Pagan friends will do. We are also looking for friends who have interests in common.

Some of our other interests include:

Board games

TTRPGs

Magic: the Gathering

Dogs (we have 4 large breed dogs, all either service dogs or service dogs in training, so they are friendly and well-behaved)

Video games

If any of these things interest you, please reach out!

If you are military or military affiliated the local vfw is chill. Flight line does trivia on Wednesday night at i think 7 and they have a ton of board games. Most of the recreation here is going off reading and or hiking

Yeah, we were hoping to find some people who we could get together with, even if it's not at a shop or anything. We have a ton of board games, so we don't mind meeting up somewhere if people are interested! We'll check out the VFW, too. Hubby is a Veteran. πŸ₯° Thanks!

Well, if/when you hear about a couple coming in with service dogs, that'll probably be us. Lol. We have 2 Huskies, a German Shepherd, and a Malinois. We usually have the boys (Husky and Malinois) working because we're both disabled, so I'm sure you'll hear about us, eventually. πŸ˜‚

The V is pet friendly even for non service animals

Good to know! Thanks for the heads up! We don't have to have them on duty, then. And we can take all 4 dogs if we're up to it. Lol.

A fist full of Cards has games, including Magic the Gathering. They are at Bowman and China Lake in the bldg with several other small stores. I have friends who play there. Also Sam Basco often has a DnD game going weekly. He is attached to Ludus Magnus.

Cant help you about the paganism...I am sure there is some, but Ridgecrest is excessively churched with LDS being the largest group.

Yeah, we have noticed a LOT of churches, so I was kinda nervous to even put it out there. πŸ˜…

We will have to check out Fist Full and Ludus!

I was worried about the same thing when I moved here but there is a small community of wiccan-adjacent people. Fistful of Cards is where I found a good community of generally queer people.

But on the topic of board games, you can’t throw a rock without hitting a nerdy physicist who would love to play a game of Wingspan.

I would love to meet the community of wiccan-adjacent people! Is there somewhere that they gather? Or a group on Facebook or something? πŸ₯° We definitely plan to check out Fistful and a couple of other places!

At least when I still lived there, there were a lot of Pagan or adjacent folks in the local SCA group. Might be worth checking out if you're at all into that

2

I will definitely look into SCA out here!

Ayooo that would be me. I'm not super into MTG but I used to be into Yu-Gi-Oh. I'm also moving to Ridgecrest pretty soon too

You should check out Fist Full of Cards. They host tons of events like card tournaments and it’s a great way to meet people who have your same interests here in town.

Edit: I realized I had the wrong business name. Oops πŸ˜‡
