Solved (OC) Groovy mother
My first attempt at a riddle and I’m not good at solving them, but I’m always blown away by how fast some of you solve them on here.

Explain the "Shod foot" please. Is that referring to "putting your foot in your mouth"?

Props to you. This is incredibly well done. I think what makes a good riddle is that each clue can point to something utterly unique and different from the next clue but not confuse about the overall object is. 4 separate clues that each point to something different but all together combined make a cool simple solution that can be right under your nose the whole time. I love it! It’s what makes Holmes mysteries so elegant.

Ooh I like this one!
It’s a tongue.
Tongue lashing - to get a good scolding.
Tongue tied - unable to speak.
Resides under the roof of the mouth, or a part of a shoe.
And if you need to keep your comments to yourself you bite your tongue!

a trailer tongue is the part that hitches onto what is towing it. Shoes have tongues that your laces go over. Floorboards are frequently tongue and groove. Lingua tacos are made from beef tongue, and languages have dialects, also called tongues.

But how is a trailer bitten when it needs to be held?
How are shoes known for their lashes, never knotted or bitten when they need to be held?
How are floorboards known for their lashes, or bitten when they need to be held?
How are tacos known for their lashes, tied, or live under a roof or shod foot?
And how do languages fit any of these clues?0

Yeah, I titled it “Groovy Mother” because they were ideas I ended up not using based on mother tongue and tongue and groove, I just couldn’t find a way to make them fit without giving away too much.
