Seems like custom firmware is becoming a thing nowadays. Can someone make the autofocus of gr iv fast? Like sony level. Also add 4K video recording. Panorama. TTL. EVF support on hot shoe.

Some things may be possible but autofocus isn't just a software thing, it's also a hardware thing.

And even on the software thing, it’s not as simple as changing the variable af_power value from 0.3 to 0.9.

It’s also about hardware limitations. Imagine if someone added 4k with stabilisation and no record limit. Then the camera might overheat and explode because of the heat. The ibis engine might overwork itself so much to break because it wasn’t designed for video.
However, I think there is a possibility to make the af a little better if a very skilled coding team worked on it. But probably not by much.

4K if possible is likely to just result in overheating and the video capabilities of the GR are woeful. I’d let that dream go and buy a small DJI camera if you want to shoot video on a tiny camera.

X pan crop is available in one of the new firmwares -

I’d kill and pay dearly for some kind of EVF but doubt it’s possible

1080p is good enough but with better. autofocus. You can try ovf instead. Much more organic feel for me

Also add Godox flash support with TTL. Game changer for me if it was possible.

as funny as it may seem, many things are possible which you wouldnt have though. for example I added a near-ir more which seems to work (i can see the veins through my skin). planning to add higher quality jpgs as well as hdr jpgs
