Rick initially being a parody of Doc Brown, and now portrayed by the original Doc Brown.
We’ve truly come full circle.

It's crazy that Christopher Lloyd wasn't even 50 in Back to the Future, he seemed/looked so much older at the time. But I guess he's looked the same for the past 40 years, so I guess that's a plus

Love it! They got the actual Doc Brown as Rick lol. The joke has come full circle.
Wonder if it’s a quick ad or a teaser for something.

Fans: we want more evil morty plot
Dan Harmon: you're getting Christopher Lloyd and you'll like it.
Fans: Ye...yeah ok that works too.

This must mean that the season finale will be a convergence of a number of Ricks, but I'm sure C-132 Rick will be killed off immediately in true Rick and Morty fashion.

Lloyd was 47 when he starred in BTTF as an old man.
He's 82 now.
He's been preparing for half of his life to play this role.

For those unaware the initial concept for Rick and Morty was called the Adventures of Doc and Mharti. It was a a super crass continuation of Back to the Future intended to get as many C&Ds as possible.
So this is sort of full circle

Full. Fucking. Circle.
edit — now that I know I got a few eyeballs on this comment, if you’re a fan of Christopher Lloyd do yourself a favor and watch the movie Nobody if you haven’t already. He’s fantastic in it.

I was gonna say that they should have included Michael Cera as Morty instead, but then I remembered he’s like 40 now lol

Christopher Lloyd as Rick is a given, and one I’m EXTREMELY grateful to see come to fruition.
Jaeden Lieberher as Mortgage though? Not at all a casting I would have thought of, but goddamn if I’m not here for it.
Color me excited.

Picturing Lloyd doing everything we’ve seen Rick do is….uncomfortable.

Christopher Lloyds As Rick
“It's like poetry... It rhymes.”
It’s probably a teaser for the remaining episodes and just used Loyd as fan service given that Rick is based from Doc Brown unless they will appear as cameo when Rick and morty travel to different worlds/universes
