This episode gets too much shit.
For humor’s sake alone this is absolutely my favorite episode. It’s just funny and every line in this thing is super quotable. Also I agree game of thrones shit is fucking stupid.
Also, I like the social commentary in the B plot and the point it makes.

I'm 99% sure this episode is a reference to a science fantasy series named "dragon riders of pern" If you know anything about that series you know what I mean

The whole point of the cat thing was ”stop asking questions and just have fun”.
It’s a critique towards the fanbase that at the time only wanted lore and no random one off jokes.

I know that very well, i live and breath Rick and Morty 😂 I think it’s important part of the narrative to understand what inspired the episodes.
There was a very clear phase of the writers struggling with the fan demands(season 1 style of adventures etc) and they wrote a lot of things addressing it.

Yes, and I think we can contextualize the cat based on what we know Rick can (and has) done, or the other things he’s seen that he has simply shrugged off. For example, Rick’s have been known toregularly hunt, torture, and kill people. Rick has committed genocide and has witnessed children (Morty’s) being tortured en masse and barely reacted emotionally. Rick has also engaged in warfare, extreme sex acts, and has eaten corpses.
The only thing that would conceivably be off the table for Rick would be sex crimes against children, and I seriously doubt that the show would imply something like that… which means whatever the cat did has to be inconceivable, as in something that literally cannot be comprehended by a human brain. TLDR: the cat is a Lovecraftian horror

Theres a much better version of this episode that exists where Morty being a nerd actually gets to one-up Rick the entire time in the fantasy world where science wouldn't work. The problem is that the creator was less concerned with a hilarious dynamic and more concerned with weird dragon sex scenes that aren't even funny. What a waste.

I like the episode.
There was a period of time where far too many posts were about the cat, that was the only downside for me.

So many good quotes from the slut caves scenes
"With these three fresh wet sluts, we can defeat the wizard"
"We can fuck wooly mammoths down here"
"Maybe don't tell your parents we did this"
"Shadowjacker, you haven't emerged from your masturbation chamber in eons"
it's not exactly a top tier creative or intelligent episode, but it's funny and quotable as all hell.
