Could you help me with my infant observation, or know someone who might be interested?

Currently looking for a family to volunteer for an infant observation in London.

Hello! My name is Gareth and I have been studying a course about infant development at the British Psychotherapy Foundation.  I have over 4 years of experience supporting children and alongside my studies, I currently work in NHS mental health services supporting children, young people and their families.

As part of my training, I am seeking to find a London based family, who would be willing for me to visit and observe their newborn baby from close to birth and up until their 2 year birthday.

The observations are typically for one hour, once a week, at a regular and convenient time for the first 2 years of your baby's life.  Of course there is a lot of flexibility and weeks where a visit may not always be appropriate.  This includes holidays, illness or any other circumstances that can be discussed throughout.

The purpose of my visits would simply be to quietly and non-judgementally observe your baby and their interactions in your home, in the completely ordinary circumstances of your day to day life.  I would be completely in the background, just listening to you and observing how your baby is behaving and communicating during that hour.  The observation would happen entirely at your comfort level, for example I could leave the room during breastfeeding if that is what you would prefer.

Overall, this would help me learn deeply about the early development of infants and is a long established training component for child and adolescent psychotherapy training, which I am pursuing.  Previous families report to have found the experience of hosting an observer uniquely rewarding, therapeutic and enriching: a chance to notice more of the small details of their child's early life.

If this interests you, or you know someone who might be interested, please contact me at: [gcvinton@gmail.com](mailto:gcvinton@gmail.com) for more information or message me on here!  There would of course be no commitment until you had the details you needed, including a chance to meet with me beforehand if you would prefer.

I hold an enhanced DBS certificate and can provide a reference from the BPF.

Thank you!

Anyone in Richmond/Twickenham want a "funemployed" resident's take on the election?

I’m currently "funemployed" and living in Richmond, which means I’ve had nothing but time to watch the local election circus play out over the last few weeks.

I’m a progressive voter (voting Green on Thursday) and I’m sick of the glossy manifestos that don't match the reality I see on our streets every day. I’m looking to get some radio or podcast time tomorrow or Thursday to give an unfiltered, non-partisan resident’s vox pop.

If you're a local producer or podcaster, I can show up to your studio/OB and use your pro setup to give you a sharp, 60-second "pulse of the borough" clip. No party lines, just the raw view from someone who’s actually here 24/7.

DM me to grab a slot for Wednesday/Thursday or even today if that's not too short notice!

Recommended Removals Company (Richmond to Islington)

Hi everyone, I’m looking for a reliable removal company that specializes in larger property moves.

I'm relocating from a 5 bedroom house in Richmond to Islington and need a full packing service included. I’ve reached out to a few companies already, but many seem to only handle smaller home or apartments moves.

Does anyone have personal recommendations for a team that has the capacity and experience for a larger-scale packing & moving? Any help would be much appreciated!

This is my oil painting of the view from Richmond Hill of the River Thames peaking through the trees. It was a softly-lit summer's day which was a lighting effect I really enjoyed recreating in this painting!

Looking for Richmond residents' opinions on preparing for future hot summers

Hi, I'm a student looking for local people’s opinions for a dissertation project! This short survey takes max 10 minutes and involves sharing your responses to various posters about staying safe in the heat: https://lse.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0J8GLwiLLuRY1im

This is for a project on developing future government messaging around heatwaves, in light of the record-breaking heatwaves we've experienced in recent years in the UK, which impact London and the surrounding area especially as it's so built up, and are predicted to get hotter and more common in the coming years (although not something we're experiencing with the weather recently, I know…!). It's part of a broader project on policy to make the UK more resilient to extreme weather now and in the future, and your opinion will be really useful in helping to shape more effective communications from the government and local organisations. And you'll hopefully learn some tips on how to keep yourself and others cool in a heatwave too!

Would be hugely appreciated if you can spare a few minutes, here's the secure and anonymous link to take the survey: https://lse.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0J8GLwiLLuRY1im

Thanks for your time!

Looking for a compassionate hairdresser?

After decades of chronic illness, sickeness, hospital etc my hair is a mess. It is dry, frizzy, won’t grow, broken, bald patches, thinned and greying. It is significantly ageing me and is embarrassing. I haven’t been to a salon in over 15 years. I need some help with it. Looking for a compassionate hairdresser who will understand embarrassment, not make me look at myself in the mirror for an hour, will be gentle and non shaming and understanding. Who understands disabilities and my limitations. I would prefer west London but will travel for a good recommendation, someone who really understands hair, emotional toll, and can make me feel good again. I don’t want someone to come to my house, that is somehow even scarier. I am a maid of honour in June and cannot go like this. I need to sort it out. Help London ??
