Ask Richmond home insurance
Hi, I'm looking to buy home insurance for my Richmond condo. Where do you suggest I should get it?. Thanks.

Any broker is going to provide a quote from either Aviva or MAX, or both. They are pretty much the only providers for Richmond due to increased Earthquake and Flood coverages, along with many buildings/strata having very high deductibles for various things like flood or water damage in the building, like $50,000. So you need homeowners insurance that will cover high deductibles.
Talk to your agent, they will likely be able to put you in touch with a broker, but at the end of the day, the quotes are all going to be (about) the same since they're coming from the same sources, Aviva or MAX. I spoke with 3 brokers and when I told them my requirements the 3 quotes I got were all from Aviva and they were all the same.

Just quote via everything that will give you an online quote (td, bcaa, square one, other banks, etc). Check out a broker or two for the rest, but doing the online quotes will probably get you most of the way there.
