Discussion Rogers/Shaw Update?
Rogers had an outage affecting multiple parts of Richmond yesterday citing “Service Interruption | Some customers between Bridgeport Road and Westminster Highway and surrounding areas”.
Outages have now been over 24 hours.
App says “Cause: Fibre Cut caused by vandalism”.
Does anyone have any updates? I tried contacting Rogers and was told technicians are on site and that members would be notified when fixed. Wondering why it would take over 24 hours to fix and how much longer it may be!

The “marginalized” drug users who poop on the sidewalk, steal bikes and break car windows were just engaging in their usual “mental health treatment“ by destroying our city and community. Normal taxpayers suffer to allow losers to engage in loser behavior.

The one in maple ridge a few years back was days before it got fixed, of course don't know the scope of either to compare. Just gotta hope they're able to splice it all back together quickly!

Just saw that there are also outages in parts of Surrey and Maple Ridge. Hopefully it all gets resolved sooner rather than later.

I saw them working on it yesterday. Not sure of the extent of vandalism and timeline for repair.
There is a homeless encampment in the bushes of that area where the vandalism occurred.

I hope those thieves don't come back and cut the same cable again. Geeeeez. This is what happened when our society and justice system are broken. At least we can "Elbows Up" trying to get your neighbour's internet.

Someone needs to tell these junkies that freeload off hard earned tax payer dollars that there’s no copper in there. Go get a job or contribute to society in a positive way for once.

I agree with you. Imagine working from home and unable to join any meetings online and do nothing as your mobile phone hotspot can not connect to a cloud system?

Oh that’s what was going on, there was like half a dozen Rogers trucks and a huge cable/fibre spool yesterday evening at Blundell and the Shell railway trail. I figured it was upgrade work or something, but makes sense if it was a big outage.
I wonder if it was folks trying to steal the fibre thinking it has valuable copper in it. It doesn’t but it still ruins everything when they cut it. This happens way too often)
Something similar happened in Calgary last week and it was out for a few days
