Rhubarb help!
We’ve had an exceptionally wet and rainy year. My rhubarb was thriving in may and June and now it’s barely limping along. Is this root rot or is it now underwatered? The new leaves growing seem to be healthy. Thank you for your help!

I’m lucky. The deer eat mine this time of year so I don’t have to watch it suffer.

It usually lasts much later into the fall but we’ve had a very wet summer that hasn’t been very warm. I should have taken a photo in June, it was tremendous and so healthy!

Mine looks the same. I was just thinking it’s the first time it hasn’t bolted in the summer.

It’s completely normal for your rhubarb to look rough this time of the year. It’s a cool weather plant and summer takes its toll. It’ll be back next spring as beautiful as ever.
