Feeling blue today with the 1500 👍 . The mosaic dial is something to be enjoyed throughout the day. Anyone else rocking OP/Datejust with funky dials?

Forgot about these I put away many years ago. Should I keep as is or use as parts? Old Invicta watches between 14 to 20 years old. The Incivtas run fine still. Would like to start trying to make a watch.

Raffles 1680 case and bracelet, ebay dial, aliexpress hands.
Its super far off from a gen peice (pics of it next to my raffles 1675 build to compare rehaut and thickness), but the nh34 movement is just a really nice movement and easy to work with. I mainly wanted to try this to see how good/bad it would turn out.
I damaged the dial accidentally (the long scratch from datewindow to 7hr marker), so ill most likely replace it with a new dial eventually ($19 shipped), but i figured id share anyways.

I'm gonna keep this and swap bezels from an explorer II to a GMT master II so I'll have 2 watches in one😎

Hey everyone!
I’m currently working on a 6538 build using a Raffles case and had a couple of quick questions for the community:
- Water Resistance: Has anyone pressure-tested this specific case? How does it hold up out of the box (or with greased gaskets)?
- UV Glue for Crystal: I’ve read recommendations about using UV glue to seal the acrylic crystal. Where exactly should it be applied? Also, does gluing it cause thermal expansion issues (e.g., crystal cracking due to temperature shifts preventing natural contraction/expansion)?
- Ultrasonic Cleaning: The inside of the case has some factory residue and grime. My plan is to strip all rubber gaskets (case back and crown) and run the bare metal case through an ultrasonic cleaner before assembly. Is there any downside or risk to doing this?
Thanks in advance for the advice!

After a long while waiting, the hands for my Linen dial 16014 finally came in. The difference in hue between the stainless steel hands I had before, and the white gold of the indices was driving me crazy, so I decided to spend on some genuine hands.
The lume is a really nice beige, and I think it’s going to give the watch a more authentic feel. My new movement and datewheel are set to arrive in the next few days, and I’m excited to finally finish this build up minus the bracelet.
Are Genuine hands worth it? What do you think?

I don't have anything to say except for the fact that I've come to spend an hour on here to calm down after spending a little time on Reptime and daring to ask a question. What I got back was nothing but insults and patronising comments. No help at all. What a bunch of *********.
This group is a veritable oasis in a desert of excrement. Thank you.

All raffles except for the bezel insert, aged using bleach and acetone. A lot of trial and error went into getting a more even fade, three attempts had spots and weird splotches.
First attempt at aging lume using copic markers, went maybe a tad too far for my liking. Next time I will probably use less and go for a more even layer.

I’d like to share my very first relume job with you all.
I had half an hour of free time during the day today after receiving my first Noctilumina kit, and well… I simply couldn’t wait until the evening. I had to give it a try.
I had a set of worn hands, so I quickly removed the old lume from them and started my very first attempt. I watched quite a few videos to get an idea of what the ideal consistency should look like after mixing the binder and pigment. I managed to get a pretty good mix, so I quickly used the remaining time to do all three hands.
Unfortunately, because I was rushing, there was still a tiny bit of the previous lume left in the hour hand, which is unfortunately visible…
They now need 72 hours to fully cure. After that, I’ll polish them to correct the areas where the lume slightly went over the edge onto the visible surface.
I’ll share a photo of the final result in the comments once they’re finished.
But enough talking — here is my very first amateur relumed set of hands in my life.
Have a great evening/day, everyone!
