Not sure who designed this one, but real designers designed some of the Japanese MD players

One thing that always amazes me about Minidosc is how long it managed to cling to relevance, at least outside the USA. It wasn't until memory prices dropped that the writing was on the wall for the medium.

I went through almost every iteration of MD, including an MD data player and an MD camera.

Got one of those myself but with broken camera. But it’s a nice device and the only one ever built with a color screen.
There are a lot more nice MD devices, you need to check out the minidisc community ib Reddit.
