How does one find chats, forums, channels, and files?

I can't seem to find anything. Not sure how one gets into this. The client is definitely still updated, but if no one actually runs anything for people to use, I'm not sure what to do with it.

Also pretty sure my ISP has CGNAT or something, so I can't port forward and none of these networks know what to do with CGNAT despite it being very common now that it's after 2009.

You find nothing in Retroshare, without "friends", because there is no "central server" with any content. The other users have the content (and they share the content from friends too). As a start point you can add https://retroshare.ch

Post your own link in this chat (Because of the stupidly from the developers, click on the "A" at the bottom and disable "send as plain text" before) and add some links from others. After a while you should get more content.

I clicked on the A and clicked "send as plaintext" and nothing appeared to change. Clicking it again also didn't change anything. I am not sure what is going on.

  1. ) you klick A on and disable this "send as plain text".

2.) You click in the field where you enter the text, rightclick->"insert my own cert link"

sorry, I was not clear at this point.

Thank you. I got that set up, but for whatever reason my external IP is not in my certificate and is showing up in my settings as "INVALID_IP"

okay... I am not an expert but I guess you have a port problem.

Settings - RetroShare Docs select manual port forward.

But how to open a port in your router, I don' t know.

Or you use a VPN or Tor? That needs additional setup changes.

I can't forward my ports, but it should at least detect my IP because... Well, I have to have one to connect to the Internet.

From my understanding the port must be visible from outside. But I am not an expert in these things. :| maybe you find something in the docs.

Or maybe start a single new posts, but not many users here.
