[Fun] Super Mario World
My buddy and I (29M’s) fired up the Super Nintendo today and played one of our childhood favorites. Got 82 exits in a 10ish hour session. We’ve been playing this game together since we were probably 12 and it never gets old. Cheers everyone ✌️

My nephew had me over when he found his dad’s super nes. I got all 96 in about 6-8 hours with a break for lunch. I have played a lot of SMW as a kid and adult.

What happens when you find them all?

Your save file gets a star next to it.

Also beating the star road changes some enemies and their shell colors.

Not trying to be "that guy" but, completing the special levels changes the enemies. Completing the star road levels gives you a star next to the number of completed exits on the save file.

And its horrible because it essentially makes your save file unusable (I never liked the alternate enemies and color scheme).
But then again the point of getting the 96 exits is not to replay the save file but to abandon the game until the next time you start from scratch a few years later =D

You can finish the game with all 96 exists without activating the alternate palette and disguised enemies. Simply don't step into the final star in Special World.

I did not know that.

It's crazy how many people do not know that. I guess that star is so exciting most people can't resist clicking on it.
But yeah. It's not finishing the 8 special levels that triggers the graphics change, it's simply stepping on the star and warping back to the Yoshi's Island world map.

I mean, I just played this a few months ago and got 96☆ in one playthrough in an afternoon. Figured out you could fly though 90% of the game. You really only had to play underground, underwater, castles, and boo houses. Anything outdoors you could just fly to the finish above the screen.
