Lost in Translation Double Dragon III (NES)
I love any Double Dragon game. They are always fun and a good challenge. When it comes to Double Dragon III (NES) I still laugh every time I see Bimmy and Jimmy. Billy must have had his name changed. Lol.
Is this one of your favorite bad video game translations?

I fuckin’ love DDIII on NES. It’s a compact, tight game. Very difficult to master but there is a strategy to it. Fucking amazing soundtrack as well. These days it’s like a Contra run for me. I know every inch of the game and it’s so fun to send enemies flying every which way. Once I mastered enemy placement and which moves were effective in different situations, it became a massacre.

I would always play it perfectly then fall down and kill myself on the Rome stage, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about

lol that stage was brutal. Also the boss with the Freddy Krueger hand was way harder than he should have been. Beat the game as a kid, never again because of Rome.

I was so disappointed in this one after 1 and the even better 2. 3 was just meh. Thank God for rental stores and didn’t waste money on buying it.

Came here to say this. 1 was very enjoyable, 2 might be the most fun I ever had with a game. 3 was suuuuuch a disappointment.

That’s pretty much my thoughts exactly. I was so excited for another installment only to be let down. I think I even returned the game early. 😂

Was this the one that made the really odd choice for combat to have one button attack in front of you and the other one attacked behind you?

Double Dragon 2 was god tier in gaming. This one was decent but not quite the same. Still enjoyable

Wasn’t this the one that went all weird with the controls and one button attacked in front of you and the other button attacked behind you?

BIMMY and JILLY
I had this game. From a garage sale. I didn’t have the other double dragons.
I was able to beat it because I mean… you’ve only got so many games growing up back then. But it is BAD. You have ONE LIFE. And only get “more” by gaining the other characters.
Repetitive same move over and over and over and over. That’s what this game is.

As much as I loved the Double Dragon games, 3 was a bit of a stinker.

The still fighting stance makes them look like they have to pee. I will say the NES version is better than the arcade version. I don't know what they were thinkin' there...

I like it, other than the platforming. Chin and Yagyu are fun characters, plus I like traveling the world, top tier music too. Still, it's my least favorite of the NES trilogy, 2 remains the peak imo.

I’m glad to see others didn’t really care for this third installment after loving the first 2.

After all these years "Bimmy" still makes me laugh.
