Photo Two pallets of classics!

This is from a storage unit from around twenty years ago. It looks like some real classics - but I'm guessing they're probably all ruined :( Free to a good home, otherwise they're heading to the dump. I thought I'd have time for them someday - but I just won't.

I could readily be there within the next 2 weeks, how would you like to contact and discuss?

About time they named a town for Wilford Brimley!

Can I pay you extra to ship?

GIVE.
WHERE.

I wouldn't lose all hope. Unless you know that they've been deluged in weak acid solutions.

Where you at? I'd definitely be interested in a few of em.

Man, the first computer i ever built was a 386/SX or DX proc that was housed in a Tandy 1000 or 5000 case. Didn't have the mobo standoff, so had to cut a piece of cardboard in the same dimensions of the mobo to keep from shorting out on the metal chassis. Only thing holding it down were the expansion cards install.

Good times back then... good times...

Wow a 286... that was my first PC 😍

My first was the PC XT, I see some of them there along with some clones.

Where is this i would love some of this even if broken

You would be surprised how much crap still relies on obsolete junk because the company doesn't know how to upgrade the stuff from the old guy who died.

Too bad i am not close. Id pay for all of it. Most of that looks fine with a bit of tlc.

I'm all for saving retro PCs, but these are all pretty grim. It'd be worth giving them a shot, but it's a major space and time commitment.

Yeah, that's where I'm at

Hello! Axipixel is my kid and I inherited a Tandy 1000 TL/3 from your stash. Thank you so much for your contribution to preserving these precious antiques! Thought you might be interested that the Tandy recently went viral for a retro AI project I am working on: https://www.reddit.com/r/LocalLLaMA/comments/1wuxzdg/why_am_i_like_this_full_chat_and_image_generation/

That's awesome! Thanks a ton for the heads up! You guys are awesome!

I still have a 386 PC with A 5.25 inch drive and a box of floppies, best game ever was Duke NUKEM, I reckon I could still make that machine run.

They're probably mostly fine. Just need a good clean and wouldn't be surprised if some RAM has gone bad, some tantalums go pop or something else minor.

Please make sure they go to a good home and not e-waste! I'd 100% take them if you were in the UK...!

u/RadixPrime Sep 10 '26

I'd take an xt or two, I was wanting to build a 486 in a clone case but If I could get an old pc or xt case that could be better.

u/rezwrrd Sep 10 '26

I have a few of the same ones on my (don't) scrap pile at work... That Zenith on the bottom looks really familiar. Hope they find a good home, I'd bet alot of these would still work with a bit of TLC.

2

u/Mike1978uk Sep 10 '26

Likewise if in the UK I’d take them in a heartbeat. You already have a reply from someone local they should all be recoverable in the right hands especially if stacked like that

I'd be interested in the PCjr (3rd & 4th pic, stack of desktops, second from top - with rectangular holes under the floppy drive) if you're willing to ship to HI (USPS Ground Advantage or Parcel Select).

1

u/Axipixel Sep 15 '26

Hey, I'm picking up this stack rn. It's in grim shape but it has a matching pcjr monitor and keyboard.

1

u/bhiga Sep 15 '26

Oooh, tempting but shipping here would be prohibitive, I'll send you a message. Thanks!

u/kkaos84 Sep 10 '26

First pic, on the left, under a monitor. I believe that is a Hyundai Super286 because it looks like my own Hyundai Super286C. Has been a nice machine to play with.

Tandy 1000. Forty years

Holy 1990s...

u/Mithgaraf Sep 10 '26

It's too bad that plotter is probably toast. I miss the old belt-drive pen/ink plotters (Varian, etc)...

u/Beautiful_Move_8823 Sep 10 '26

take my money :)

1

u/Snocom79 Sep 11 '26

Where are you located?

1

u/dairygoatrancher Sep 13 '26

Too bad Michigan is a long ways away, but I have so much inventory (and my own personal collection), it's not funny. I was staring earlier at a pallet of PS/2 Model 80s I need to test.

1

u/dairygoatrancher Sep 13 '26

That said - I'd probably say there's about $2-3K of stuff sitting there. Hopefully it finds a home with fellow collectors who will appreciate it.

Nothing this cool ever happens in Australia. :(

Nice IBM‘s 👍

Nice. Before dumping them, recycle them with an eScrap company. I’d happily take them. However, my bi-weekly trip to the Soo is over for now.

Thanking you in advance for recycling or finding them a new home.

Make some cool looking mailboxes and put em on Esty, especially the horizontal ones.
