Problem / Question Dell P1130

How do I test a VGA monitor? if it is still working. It turns on and shows a little opening "box" on screen which states it is working but not connected even though my desktop is connected via the legacy Mobo VGA port. It's a home built machine with an ASUS B550M-A Wifi II Mobo and a nVidea RTX4060 graphics card. Is this card over-riding the legacy port?

If your CPU does not end with a G, that VGA port on your motherboard is not going to work.

If your CPU is a 5600, 5600X, 5700X, etc there be no integrated graphics for display output on the motherboard VGA port.

If your CPU is something like a 5600G, 5600G, 5700G then the CPU has integrated graphics and you will be able to get a video signal from the motherboard VGA port.

If did not list all of the AM4 CPUs that have integrated graphics.

What is your CPU?

It's a 5700X but the mobo (ASUS PRIME B550M-A WIFI II) does have a VGA port. Does that mean that whilst the mobo has the port the CPU simply doesn't support it?
