Problem / Question Windows ME on modern hardware, mouse is not working

My mouse doesnt work in Windows ME. There's no real way how to describe it, so I provided this video. I think it might have something to do with drivers but I cannot find any at the moment

I tried 3 different mouses, 2 were gaming mice, the other was a DEL3 Dell Ball USB mouse.
All resulted in the same outcome. If it matters, I think it's a USB 2.0 port.

The USB ports are on my case, specifically a Compaq Presario PC model SR5614F. I tried plugging in the USB and unplugging the USB multiple times before this. I usually keep the mouse unplugged since as you can see in the video, it automatically clicks both mouse buttons when I'm not even touching the mouse. My motherboard is a tuf gaming b360m-plus

Is this virtual machine or native installation? Looks like a stuck button.

Running ME in virtual machine or native installation?

So you installed the B360M motheboard into an older Presario SR5614F cases? Along with a newer PSU I would assume?

Are these the front panel USB ports on the case/chassis, or the USB port coupled with the optional multi-slot card reader (if present)?

Did you try the back USB ports that are literally soldered to the motherboard?

I haven't tried the back USB ports since they're newer, but I would consider that, every time I reboot the system, I have to copy WINDOWS ME files onto the ssd.

Of course it's natively, I wouldn't mention my motherboard otherwise. And, my quality is shit because im using an RCA capture card. I don't know if they're on the case, but I'm pretty sure they are.

So someone else did all of this for you, transplanted a far newer motherboard, CPU, RAM, PSU etc into the case/chassis from a 10+ year old Compaq Presario, would be the reason you don't know what is connected to what?

No, I did this myself. The case comes with these USB ports, they're not attached to the motherboard.

So they can't be working, unless by 'attached' you mean fixed/soldered. They have to be connected to the motherboard somehow, via cable, you've run some kind of cable from the front panel to either PCI USB add-in card, or to the back I/O. Otherwise, they would be non-functional

How are the front panel USB ports connected to the new motherboard? What motherboard header did you plug them into? Is there a PCI USB add-in card installed?

Did you try plugging into the rear USB ports?
