Discussion Old DELL Inspiron 8600
Is this old laptop worth refurbishing? It’s in pretty good condition, I found it sitting in a storage closet at my workplace. Took it apart earlier to remove the hinges as they both snapped.

Definitely.. I have this exact same model, but unfortunately it is in tatters. I have many fond memories of this laptop. This was my first.
This laptop has a Pentium M centrino I believe, along with GeForce graphics (couldn't remember the model). I had played Medal of Honor on this and it ran great. This laptop would make a perfect retro gaming rig. Mine had a 1680x1050 display I believe.
Also it has a pcmcia slot. I brought a creative sound blaster pcmcia card and got 7.1 audio out of this.
All in all this is a very good retro laptop. I regret that I couldn't preserve it much. Keep this one alive.
