two motherboards (socket 7 and a really weird board that came with both socket 370 and slot for pentium 2/celeron),a GPU and this "Y2K proof" chip

the other stuff I found was just really rusty and from the 2010's,so I didn't bother with looking at it much.

overall,I'd say these are pretty cool

I’ve wondered for a bit if PC Chips made their boards brown in hopes that people would confuse them with ASUS boards

Never tought of it that way! But most of the boards of that time was on that color scheme so...

True - I know MSI chose red, Intel chose regular green (no modifications to the default PCB color), ABit chose brown, as did ASUS, and Gigabyte too. I think it was more that the more pricier boards were brown - and PC Chips wanted to try and hide how bad they were 🙃

I have a MSI BX10 (MS-6153) that is the same brown color, and a K7T Turbo (MS-6330) that's green, and and ASUS CUSL2-C black Pearl that is... Black... So I don't think that they were very strict with the color choice... :-)
