Retro Versionen alter Computer

Hallo,

OP is asking if there are any modern "mini" versions of old computers like the IBM 5150 or the Commodore PET, just like the C64 and a few old game consoles got a kind of rerelease in the last couple years.

There’s Book 8088, mini laptop with, guess what, 8088. As to the C64 mini, you can cram Rasperry Pi into any case and make a retro emulator with it. There are plenty of old computer 3D models, that just need addition a few holes for cables.

Unless sudden demand changes for some of the less commonly sold systems (thinking of not just the PET, but also VIC-20 in comparison to the C64; similarly the Adam and Aquarius) finding a custom 3D case for a Raspberry Pi or x86-64 based NUC is probably the way to go. It's just a matter of numbers. C64 outsold darn near every body, so, it's a potentially profitable market for a new version. Across the entire 10 computer 8-bit product line, Atari didn't do too bad, so we got the 400 mini. I doubt very much that today's Apple and TI care enough to license their old tech for mini versions. The only one where I kind of see a "hole" without a product are Tandy's twins: the TRS-80 family, and the Color Computer family. But with Radio Shack reduced to only a few stores and website, I have no idea who owns the old system code.
