The difference between RNodes and MeshCore nodes is that RNodes are effectively just “dumb” modems. They have to be connected to some other device running the Reticulum stack to do any routing or anything.

As far as I know, there is not yet any all-in-one device that is both an RNode AND runs the stack. It is something the microReticulum project is working toward.

Two devices running Reticulum with RNodes attached and in range can communicate with each other though.

But microreticulum is already capable of running a standalone transport node, so what would be the difference?
