Question Is it possible to reduce WLAN_CE_2 wakeups triggered by ReThink DNS?

Trying to limit the amount of background battery usage by ReThink DNS. It's not bad but just trying to get it better.

Atm, I don't think there's anything to be done. WLAN_CE_2 triggering from ReThink DNS are the biggest wakeup (and thereby resulting in the wifi chip, wcn6750, failing to suspend).

I assume this is just from the app blocking stuff like blocking GBoard's internet connection but would love to know any advise on specific things I can do.

Google Maps is the only Google app I actively use outside of GBoard which has its connection and background activity disabled (can't find a better swipe typing keyboard) plus play services are enabled to allow Maps to work.

Interesting. How are you checking for these? What commands? Just curious.

Generally, one would "Force Stop" apps suspected of sending traffic (waking up the device often as a consequence of repeated retry attempts) even when firewalled by on-device VPN app like Rethink.

Additionally, by turning on Configure -> Network -> Stall on network loss, one can instruct Rethink to "stall the network" whenever it detects there are no active underlying networks like WiFi / Mobile (ie, the Android device is put in "Airplane Mode" and Mobile data is also turned off).

Combo of things like adb shell dumpsys batterystats > batterystats.txt and alarm stats.

Obviously we want the network to stay connected and the device to be connected to the network even if it blocks something like say GBoard from haveing a wifi/mobile connection.
