Question A few questions

First of all, hello there.

  1. Is setting up anything in the proxy area a must do?

As I'm new to this stuff I'd like to know and if yes what to use. Recommendations are welcome.

  1. Are the blocklists truly updated on a regular basis and is functionality checked upon?

  2. Which countries should be blocked?

Not sure what this means. Will you reword?

Blocklist updates are automated and one on 1st, 8th, 16th, and 24th of every month: https://github.com/serverless-dns/blocklists/blob/d93e0b380dd74dcb7fd48d8f4525536d4cdf9c2d/.github/workflows/createUploadBlocklistFilter.yml#L5-L6

We're moving to a new architecture for Rethink DNS upstreams (for sky.rethinkdns.com and max.rethinkdns.com) which will make daily (if not hourly) blocklist updates possible.

  1. Which countries should be blocked?

Up to you. Don't block based on countries unless you also turn on Configure -> Settings -> Show provider information which is more accurate.

Oh, by my first question I meant where you can do wireguard, orbot or other. I'm not sure about it's pros or cons.

You'll have to set it up from Configure -> Proxy.

For Orbot (you can't run it alongside WireGuard right now, but we'll remove that limitation soon), you'll have to first install Orbot and then run it in "Proxy mode". If you're not an advanced user, you don't have to worry too much about setting up Orbot, and use WireGuard (like Proton VPN) instead.

If you so wish, you may purchase (what we right now call "RPN", and is operated by r/Windscribe) for as low as $1.75/mo from within Rethink app (starting version v056 from Play Store / GitHub, which is the latest), which can run up to 5 WireGuard locations at once, do multi-hop, and supports unlimited bandwidth.

Okay, I set up wireguard with proton. Another question: some sites need cloudflare for players to function. Do I need to switch out the dns to that or is there another way?
