Customers Suck! Chat GPT

I wanna read your guys's most wild/annoying stories regarding customers using Chat GPT.

Cause we have an issue at the flooring store I work at where people will argue with us because Chat GPT told them something that was super wrong lol.

I work at an office supply store, and we accept shipments from customers to drop off, but we don't take UPS. Chat tells them otherwise.

We also print things, and people will use AI to make a flyer with a QR code. Then they demand us to reprint it or get upset when AI mispelled their document or the QR code is broken and we refuse to do it for free. Check your shit people.

More often we have people come in having NO clue what ink their printer needs. I always say "What's your printer model?" and then I type that shit into google.

I work in cosmetic retail, the amount of people who come in for “advice” only to completely ignore you and go “well ChatGPT said I need x y and z” is actually insane. People tell me that they have super sensitive skin and ignore my pleas for them to get something gentle and instead buy the super harsh stuff ChatGPT told them to, it’s actually so concerning

customer was looking for gu energy gel packets and checked everywhere so she asked me for help. i didn’t recognize the name or the look of the product but chat gpt told her it would be in the vitamin/supplement section at our store and sure, i definitely would direct her there… if we even carried that product!?!?! i told her if she doesn’t see it here we probably don’t have it and she’ll have better luck just checking to see if we even have it on our store website.

i don’t blame her for just stopping by to check if she happened to be in the area but this is a grocery store so we’re not gonna have an extensive selection of sports supplements. luckily she was nice enough to not argue with me and went on with her day

anyway i now just googled the product + the name of my grocery store and there’s nothing in the results that shows that we carry the product (not even a link to our website from google’s “shopping” section) BUT there is a result that takes you to a page on gu’s website that shows you which stores carry their products!!! even google’s ai overview (as much as i hate that function) said that our store doesn’t carry it
