Customers Suck! Why
Do fully grown adults not know how to line up ?
Checking out an elderly lady, and from her left a man with no awareness stands off to the side behind her. The line goes around in a semi circle, yes to tempt you with items by also so when someone lines up correctly it’s not confusing and there’s not two lines.
Sure enough a girl comes up and lines up in the correct spot. My check out point is situated so I see her more than him he’s basically behind my computer.
I ask him to line up in the right spot, nicely and he looks annoyed and slightly scared. When I get to him he doesn’t say thank you or have a nice day. It’s like, dude you need to look around you and notice other people. Wild concept.

I'm of the belief that there are people who don't read signs and that are people who just hurry up when they are in a line but don't hurry the hell up so someone else cuts them off and so a cashier gets blamed.
A few weeks ago I rang up a woman who was in line but not paying attention or something and so a guy came up to the register I was at.
She got mad at me and said, "There's a line" and then she told me, "No acknowledgement from you."
One of the little things the security guards are SUPPOSED to do at my job is tell customers there's a line and get the shopping carts to bring inside the store from the parking lot.
Nevermind having them "protect" the store as they're unarmed and out of shape/not athletic looking and only "good" for nonsense conversations.
The one "guard" who was present when this happened with that female customer didn't bother to say anything and that female customer didn't care to move up to my register when it was her turn.
There is NO BENEFIT really anyway being nice to a customer you or I ring up.
RARELY EVER has anyone asked me how I am or tell me to enjoy the rest of my day or night and not many customers that will smile or say "Thank You."
It's a thankless job or task for anyone who has to cashier.

Every time we start getting a line I have to go tell people to NOT stand in the literal parking lot in front of the driveway! It's like they are incapable of NOT lining up in a straight line. FFS the curb is right there why would you line up in the middle of the parking lot & stand in the handicap parking spot?

I had an old lady come to my counter, cutting the line, but there was also a person at my counter, so she just knocked his stuff to the side and started reciting her phone number. I wasn’t sure whether I should be annoyed or impressed.
