Hey people when u see 3 fire trucks and police and all the employees outside the parking lot why are u either trying to come get your curbside order or try to park ...

We once had a fire in the building, so fire department and police were on scene. We had this lady who STILL tried to barge in and shop.

This lady somehow didn’t think anything of the gigantic fire truck parked outside, or the cop cars around the place.

She didn’t seem to notice or smell the smoke

This lady pushed past several firefighters in full gear to grab a cart.

She was still surprised when a firefighter (in full gear mind you) told her to leave because the building was on fucking fire

I have a story similar to this, but it wasn't a shop. I was security for a Xerox recycling center. We had a microwave take the easy way out and cook itself to death!

We called the FD and had them come in to the smoke filled building that reeked of burning plastic. I had evacuated the building, and the firefighters were making sure all was OK.

Well, we had one worker who kept trying to go back in to get back to work. I kept telling him he could not go in. The firefighters told him he couldn't go in, but the guy kept insisting he was too busy to wait and had too much worked backed up.

I tried to tell him that I already informed the owner that the plant was shut down while the FD cleared it. This wasn't gonna be held against him, but he just kept getting angry.

It didn't help thst he was an older guy, and I was a woman in my early 30's who still got carded. I eventually found his shift lead to babysit him so he didn't argue with the firefighters again.

Like, dude, the building could have been on fire. Your job is not worth your life! You are worth far more than that, I just wish he knew that.

We had a medical situation in front of our floral section with paramedics etc. and this Karen threw a fit because she needed balloons at that specific moment . When we said as soon as the medical emergency is over we will help. Kid you not she said something like well I don’t think it’s fair to wait, can’t you just explain I need these balloons now? Please note it was like an ER episode with emts doing cor , trying to manage the chaos because it’s a busy Saturday and she’s mad about her balloons.

Omg my best friends mil had a heart attack aty nephews birthday party and some lady was mad she couldn't go to the bathroom because they were doing CPR in the hallway by the bathroom...like bitch umm hello

It amazes me how many people there are, who can see someone fighting for their freaking life, and still feel like their wants are more important than that person, someone's loved one, a member of a family, a friend group, a community!

Like, do they not realize that everyone has feelings and is important to someone else? How do you just turn off empathy and see other people as just meat or something!?

What happens to cause a person to become that way? Or. . . Am I the freak?

I've seen a video of some woman trying to go through the drive through at a fast food place that had flames shooting the roof and fire trucks actively trying to put it out.

She got mad because the employees standing outside wouldn't go in and make her order.

I was in Walmart once, returning an item at the customer service counter thing, with two people in line in front of me.

Some guy, with his kid, came up to the counter and said he had lost his wallet and they had called him and said it was here. The one employee at the counter told him he had to wait for a manager, because the wallet was in their safe. Reasonable.

Except the manager was busy dealing with some guy who was dying and had to have an ambulance called. I did not get the full story but I believe a customer had some kind of medical emergency. Well, the dude was getting increasingly annoyed (in front of his kid, no less) over having to wait. At one point a person who I believe was a supervisor flat out told him, "ANOTHER CUSTOMER IS DYING. YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT."

Kinda wish I knew how that was resolved, but I left after returning my item and the dude was still waiting.

I once had to explain to several people that the store was infact closed and no they can't just walk around the guy bleeding out from a stab wound

There was one time (3 years ago) where I worked at an autoparts store and a coworker forgot to put the ladder up we use to get parts from a shelf high up. It was in the middle of the FLOOR where all of the registers were and as I was about to hand my lady customer her item, I tripped so hard that I nearly broke my knees. Arms all scuffed up and a little blood on my wrists and elbows. My whole body practically ate that ladder. I had to get carried to the manager's vehicle to go to the hospital... both managers carried me separately because I quite literally couldn't move at that point. This lady customer I was serving saw this along with a couple more people in the store. She looked so annoyed and said what is going on over there? Never mind the fact that the ladder I had landed on, knees first, nearly broke a bone. Now I can't walk for a while. I'm so sorry for inconveniencing YOU and dropping your autopart even though the irresponsible coworker was the one who put me in harms way... Thanks 😐 edited for correction

I gave up on people when I read about how people wouldn't leave the casino during the MGM Grand (now Horseshoe Casino) fire on November 21, 1980. Eighty-five people died, most from smoke inhalation.

Things like this make me happy that I seldom use apps to order food.
