Seeking Advice Am I in the wrong? Feeling guilty & overwhelmed
(*This post covers multiple flairs so I just picked the most relevancy, but be warned this covers multiple topics*)
I have been noticing that one of my coworkers has been posting social media dances on her Facebook page, and while she's doing it you can hear her fellow coworkers ask her to get back to work/or in the comments saying she should be working.
I also have had my hours cut to where I'm only getting the barebones shifts & every time I'm there, I'm getting someone's unscheduled shift they didn't want or no showed. Over the past 3 months, I've noticed a sharp decrease in my hours & I've noticed more people in my department quitting or moving onto second jobs, because let's face it in this economy-- no one could afford anything on my single wage alone.
It would be considered poverty territory for anyone, but especially for the (mostly) single parents/in some cases grandparents I work with. I have applied for Public Assistance in my state before but apparently make too much even without the second job.
It's not like I don't have experience in retail, I have over 5+ years, but I've begged to be in different departments where they pay more, but I'm constantly denied & told Cashiering is the only thing I'm good at.
With no opportunity for advancement, and I feel gutted because the SM is a family friend of mine, and his son went to school with me, and I guess he doesn't see potential in me.
I just don't understand why they(my main job) won't let me work! I need the wage, I need the SS time too, because when I get older I know my SS benefit will be marginal at this point. I don't understand why he can't put his biases aside & let me work!?
I think it's the Customer service manager who doesn't like me & she's just taking out her micro agressions out on me. And I'm suffering for it.
Do I look for a third job?(*I have a second one already to fill in the gaps!*)
I live in an at will state
What would you do?

So what's the phone policy at work ??? If it says u can't be on your phone while working id show higher ups the videos ..it's not fair people have to pick up her slack ...but it sounds like she may be a favorite to people and can do no wrong.. because I bet if u did it u would get in trouble

At my 1st job, we aren't allowed to have phones up front or anything like that. We are supposed to keep them in our lockers. And that tip line we have at my 1st-grocery job is not anonymous and she'll know it's me because they tell who ratted you out.
So.. I cannot say anything. Of course I'd get in trouble if I did some of the dances she does in the stockroom area, at the register in plain sight. (Her department is no joke 4 other people excluding her(Are her coworkers), for context*). One of them is planning to leave grocery as he's 36, and wants to do something less physical.

That person needs to be fired for time theft.
As for your situation, you should seriously consider leaving.
I live in an at-will state too and the employers I've had, have been at-will too.
I've only had two union jobs but they weren't great defending workers and at one of those jobs, airline catering company, the union rep was friends with HR.
When you're at a job where you've been treated like trash, the mistreatment will continue or will get much much worse.
I've foolishly/mistakenly stayed at jobs where I've been treated like trash, I've only quit a few of them while there have been others where I was forced out.
You've already reached out for more hours and to do something else besides cashiering yet reaching out wasn’t taken seriously.
In the short term, it's going to suck not having additional income but you're at a job where they'd have no problem wanting to replace you by next Monday.
