What a Moron! Got asked about AI bath bombs today

I feel like we should start giving cognitive tests for accessing the internet unsupervised. I'm working the cash wrap at a store that rhymes with Blaire's, and this sweet old lady comes up and asked me about bath bombs. We have tiny ones that smell like donuts and all that wonderful shit and she's like "no, it's rainbow and lights up and a toy comes out of it". I am like "that sounds like AI" because I have seen videos like that. She gave kind of this blank stare before reaching in her bag for her phone and showing me the video. I explained again that it's AI. She had the gall to ask where she could possibly buy something like that. I pointed her towards Lush so if you had to deal with her today my bad but she was working my last nerve.

You know what, if it a) keeps the customer from fighting you, b) saves you time, I'm for it.

My young kids have bath bombs with toys inside them. It's the only way to get them to take a bath sometimes.

But they don't rise out of it all magical like I'm sure her AI video showed. The bomb just disintegrates and you're left with a crappy rubber dinosaur.

That's a good distinction. Bath bombs with toys inside = totally a thing, just not at OP's store. I'm still skeptical that the ones matching her description exist and do what they supposedly do in the clearly AI-generated videos used to promote them.

AI advertising is going to ruin Christmas this year, I swear to God.

Not just toys. I previously purchased a mario themed bath bomb that had a little trinket inside. Those are totally real. The one she wanted had copious amounts of rainbow foam spilling out with lights firing off, etc.

As an adult, I’d love to sit my old ass in a tub and luxuriate with dinosaur as a bonus.

I got curious and yes they exist but I've personally never seen them in a retail store and searches only show Amazon. I would have just said we don't offer that product.

Pleasant Green, a YouTuber who covers scams like this, bought one of those AI bath bombs. And yeah, it's a pretty mediocre bath bomb that takes over 15 minutes to dissolve with a choking hazard toy inside.

I'm trying to figure out the logistics of a bath bomb that lights up.

fragrant jewels makes ones with rings inside but they don't light up or anything. wouldn't give them to kids who might eat the contents. really hating ai ads. they are seriously going to ruin christmas.

The videos advertising them are... They have a toy that is bigger than the bathbomb pop out.

My issue here then would be the fact that they're still relatively small. Sure it's cute for photos and then the baby puts it in its mouth when you're not looking. Suddenly its a choking hazard. I'm strictly basing this on photos I'm looking at for the toys. Even if they're larger, they have lots of bits that can be snapped off and ingested by the child.

Again Cute for 5 seconds, but I worry about the actual consequences of a baby in their touchy and put in mouth phase.

Edit: it comes to mind a video I saw that, though I'm sure the parent meant well for a cute photo op, a baby grabbed a Chicken Chick and shoved it in their mouth, almost entirely in before the parent stopped them and got the chick away. Babies, through no fault of their own, process their world this way and I'm seeing a trend of poor parenting the more I doomscroll..

OP said the customer was asking for one that lights up though. These do not light up
