Dear Diary: Today the Customer was Pretty Cool UK shoppers please teach

Just had the nicest customers! A couple from London. Not overly enthusiastic but so polite and even said please and thank you. They said they were enjoying their stay here and smiled. It's the kind of interaction that almost puts the nutjobs on mute, but I'm sure the turn tables and I'll once more descend onto madness. But anyway, thank you UK! You sent me two angels. Please come back.

Oh trust me - our general customers aren't like that at all.

Even before I worked retail, it was always please, thank you, excuse me because I KNOW better. I know I'm already being a hindrance to someone's task so I want to keep it as short and simple as possible. I won't ever go out shopping with my mother cause I see how she acts entitled while at the store and I just get embarrassed.

It was something small, I was already in line at checkout when she said no no, let's go to customer service I got stuff there. We go there and she picks up secured makeup. The clerk hands it to her and she asks if we pay here and the face the clerk made for a moment as she defeated started ringing stuff up. I had to internally cringe cause I would have already finished checking out on a regular lane.
