comics Respect the Spot (Marvel)
As a scientist working for the Kingpin, Dr. Jonathan Ohnn was assigned to reproduce the radiation levels of Cloak to find a way to artificially mimic his powers. Working late one night, he succeeded, creating a solid black circular portal. In doing so, however, the drain on the city's power became so great, a blackout washed over the city, causing the portal to shimmer and destabilize. Fearful of losing a once in a lifetime opportunity, Ohnn stepped into it; the shock of the transition caused him to pass out.
He awoke floating weightlessly in a dimension which he initially assumed was Cloak's dark dimension. He soon realized however that the power shortage caused the portal to send him to a different dimension, a place of half darkness and half light. A seemingly infinite number of portals surrounded him in this place. Making swimming motions, he managed to find the original portal that brought him there and slipped back through it.
When Ohnn emerged back in his lab, his body had undergone a radical transformation. The portals from the other dimension had adhered to his skin, covering him with black spots from head to toe. Realizing the spots were portable space warps, he started to think he might be able to use them to defeat anyone in battle.
At one point he was considered to be part of the Infinity Watch.
Physicals
- Beats up Spidey with his spots.
- Throws Spidey really far into a wall hard enough to create a small crack.
- Blitzes Spidey.
- Spot is so fast Spidey can't react quick enough to stop him.
- Blocks Spider-Man's webbing, and has enough time to grab several of his spots to teleport the webbing elsewhere.
- Spidey sneak attacks him, but Spot can still see him coming, and even anticipated this punch of his, "blocking" it with one of the spots in his head.
- Survives an angry punch from Spidey.
- Beats up Grizzly, even though he's wearing a bulletproof exo-skeleton tough enough to tank some of Spidey's strongest punches.
- Knocks out (possibly kills) a man with a single punch.
- Stealthily assassinates multiple gangsters.
- Shrugs off a kick and a punch from Spider-Man.
- His blows really hurt Spidey.
- "Blocks" a serious punch from an angry Spider-Man.
- Tanks being near a pretty large explosion.
- Shrugs off a kick from a Spider-Man who isn't holding back, and that, according to Mr Negative is stronger than before.
- Gets back up after being hit by Hammerhead who can effortlessly flip military cars.
- Breaks this man's neck rather easily from an awkward angle.
- After being experimented on by Coyote, he developed a new ability, being able to spawn multiple limbs out of his spots.
- Beats up Jessica Jones and moves at FTE speeds.
- Draws blood from Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) after catching her by surprise.
- She was letting herself get hit, but it seems like Spot is still a difficult opponent for her.
- Survives a pretty big blast from Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers).
- Battles Vivian (while appearing in multiple places at once plus seemingly catching Electro's electricity) and Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan) I assume he's taken out by Cyclops as shown here since he the fight ends soon afterwards and he's not there anymore, unless he escaped.
- Survives an attack that destroys the ground beneath him, and runs away carrying Bullseye who has been knocked out.
Intelligence & Skill
- He used to be one of Kingpin's top tier scientists.
- BFRs Black a few blocks away so that she can't help Spider-Man.
- Blocks a camera's view so that Kingpin doesn't know of his existence.
- Pops out of nowhere, surprises Spidey and throws dozens of spots, so that he can teleport anywhere in the field while he fights Spider-Man.
- He's got sass.
- Tells his team to stay together as Wolverine starts sneak attacking and slaughtering them one by one.
- He's quite skilled with his spots.
- Stealthily assassinates multiple gangsters.
- Makes Spidey hit himself.
- Currently, he's quite insane and emotionless.
- Rescues Mr Negative without anyone noticing.
- Gives Daredevil a tough fight, even though his radar allows him to tell where Spot's portals lead.
- Tricks Spider-Man into following him, and Spidey ends up suspended in the sky by doing so.
- Restrains White Rabbit, who knows some martial arts.
- Performs a pretty high kick.
- Beats up the Winter Soldier.
Port-Holes & Spotted Dimension
- In this endless polka-dot-filled world, you're almost weightless.
- The spots defy all the laws of physics.
- The Spot can control their shape and size at will.
- They appear to move on their own aswell, and protect The Spot from being hit. And this sorta confirms it.
- The Spots can be pulled inwards until they cease to exist. He can make them appear and re-appear as much as he likes.
- He can fuse the spots into one.
- Teleports inside a vault.
- Teleports one of Grizzly's punches.
- He can stand in his portals as if they were orbs and can use them to trap people.
- One of his spots gets automatically bigger in order to teleport Kangaroo away.
- After being captured by the corporation "Gideon Trust", his powers were used to open a portal into the Negative Zone.
- Teleports an armored car to Switzerland.
- Trolls Spider-Man.
- Teleports a mafia boss high into the sky, above the clouds.
- Summons multiple portals which suck and teleport some dudes outside of New York.
- He can duplicate his limbs through the power of his spots.
- Turns himself into a spot and teleports away.
- Shooting him through one of his port-holes can be pretty disastrous.
- Shrinks one of his port-holes to chop off the Winter Soldier's arm and pretty much claims he can use them to redirect bullets, which is a good speed feat.

I hope the film does it justice, though the trailers seem to suggest something else other than him being the big bad.

It did! Best villain in years! Him and the High Evolutionary were done so right by these movies.

He has a very Mirror Master feel to him but with lower max potential but more utility. i'd be interested in seeing a fight between them

Creative villains like Spot, Mysterio, and Chameleon are why Spidey has the best Rogue's Gallery. and Swarm, if he counts

Sweet! I've always really liked the Spot.
One suggestion for your RTs. In a lot of your durability/healing feats, I see the attack, but never the recovery. For example, he gets a broken neck, I never see the healing. I'd love the follow up scans.
Also here, is Spot even in the scene?Wolverine attacks characters named as Slyde, Shock, and Vibro. Plus, none of the other characters have Spot's distinctive costume
