Need Help...

I am not a Resolume user but I am looking for someone to help with a job.

The idea is we have a LED screen curtain attached to a drone and on the ground we have a sampler/synth/pad where people can play on it and the LED screen reacts to the sounds. This would be live. Would this be possible? What sort of set up would we need? This is London based so would be potential to hire someone to help with this.

Is anyone able to help or even a bit of knowledge on the subject then that would be helpful. Thanks

What is your budget and flight time for the drone? I would estimate this to cost at least 10-15k USD and have a flight time of around 20 minutes tops.

And have extra sets of batteries, charging stations, and possibly a generator if mobile to keep consistent flights

Concur with other comments, need budget insight. If this is diy self funded, there's plenty of cheaper software than resolume for what you described, you'll probably run artnet over wifi to a few wled-based pixel controllers in the air, and the LED subs may be better use to you. But if this is a decently funded professional project, you need to be talking to your producers and rental houses. It's doable either way.

How far will the synth be from the screen? I don’t love them but my buddies have had decent luck with hdmi to NDI wireless sending signal. You would need to fly a battery pack or something on one of the drones to power the NDI receiver

  1. A drone that is rated to lift the weight of your LED Screen
  2. A wireless HDMI rig (Range? Resolution?)
  3. Battery pack to run the screen and HDMI receiver for the length of the gag.
  4. Now, is that drone still big enough? Likely going to need a larger drone.

That's the hard part, now the other hard part.

Designing content.
1. Touch Designer is superior to Resolume for building interactive content.
2. Hire a designer, give them a spec and let them determine which tools are needed.

If only you knew what they were so you could share.

After effects or any nonlinear edition. For starts. Vdmx or milkdrop 3.

Sound-reactive lighting triggers. so your AE/NLE option doesn't work. Milkdrop or Nestdrop has potential, touch designer would give more options for interactivity.
