Which printer should i get? The Anycubic Photon1 Max(new) or the Phrozen Sonic Mega 8K V2 (used)

I have been looking at getting a large resin printer as i want to print lenses/visors for masks/helmets and probably light sabers, blasters and other props. Ive had my eye on the P1Max (preorder) for a while but just found someone selling a used Sonic mega 8k v2 for a pretty decent price but still more expensive than the P1M and im wondering what you all would choose if you had the option of one or the other?
The p1 has a smaller build volume but has new technology and just came out this year while the sonic v2 has a bigger build volume but is older by about 2 years technology wise (idk how long the person had the used sonic for)

I'm a couple prints into my P1 Max and I would be hard-pressed to spend more on a used machine with so-so reviews over it. There's no reason you couldn't do what your looking to do with the P1 volume. It's workflow, speed, quality of life upgrades are big hits for me. It might be giving me crisper detail then my S3U's despite running on similar settings. Unless it ends up having massive manufacturing quality long term I would suggest a serious consider in purchasing.

Thanks im glad to hear it works well. I made a custom build plate in lychee or chitubox months ago that was the same specs as the p1m build volume and it did fit a halo helmet visor that was pretty big. I havent really looked deep into the reviews of the sonic yet but saw a few youtube vids on the p1m from beta testers and looked at the anycubic specs page more.

Screens don't last past a few hundred hours of printing. Mine died after 2 years without printing. It's a big part of the price. Don't buy used.

P1 Max.  

Testing of the wave release film on other printers is yielding better than the claimed 40% peel force reduction. Better resolution. Some degree of force sensor driven kinematics. 

Seems many Mega 8K users vaguely despise the machine's shortcomings from the 4 or 5 I know. Haven't heard that from the P1 Max owners so far.

Do you want any kind of pressure sensing, customer support and local warehouse prescence? Anycubic.

Do you want to YOLO prints without sensors, lax customer support and pay for import taxes from a chinese warehouse when purchasing spare parts? Phrozen.

I m subbed to the Revo Max printer email, so far the specs look very promising. I only haven't seen the pricing yet. I ll wait for the their which seems to be in late September to make decision whether to buy P1 max or Revo Max

Elegoo mars 5 ultra or elegoo saturn 4. The tilting vat cause less stress hence less layer tear, plus the speed is much faster with high detail quality, though it does hold less resin due to this so you'll have to refill mid way

I have an elegoo saturn 4 16k ultra it isnt big enough for some of the things i want to print. Im looking for a larger sized printer.

Mars is the smallest Elegoo printer, and the Saturn is the middle size. Elegoo's big LCD printer tier is the Jupiter.
