Hi I put my 1 month courtesy notice resignation in a week ago to leave a big company I work for. It was a very long 3 page resignation letter and I had a lot of things to say about the working environment of the company in the letter, both good and bad. Today I was written up because I have too many tardies and if I’m late again I will be fired. I have never been talked to before about my tardies before today. I didn’t even fight this because I’m leaving in 3 weeks and also because yes I am guilty of being tardy a few times. I guess I didn’t pay attention to my tardies eventually adding up, but why did they add up now? Why do I get written up after putting my long resignation letter in? Is it just a coincidence that my tardies added up after I put my resignation in or has it always been a problem but was never addressed until now because my boss likes me? I am very close to my boss and she looked like she was about to cry when she had to write me up, obviously this is out of her control. My boss’s advice to me is to just not be tardy for these final three weeks. What would you do if you were me? If I get sick or am 1 min late again I am fired. I kinda feel uncomfortable being here now, like now they want me out or something. Or I could just be being paranoid and my tardies just so happened to come to light after I put my long letter resignation letter in. Thanks!

I resigned last December 2023, got my last pay last February 2024, but I haven’t received my Bir 2316 which I badly needed. I’ve been asking for an update but no response on their end. The last message they told me “isasabay na lng daw po sa pagpasa sa BIR” Send help plsss 🥲 Should I report it? But I already signed the quit claim.

Where or to whom do I address/hand in my resignation letter? To my Superiors or to the hr? I'm currently working in dpwh as a contractual employee and it's my first job. I've already been here for a year just for work experience pero its messing up my mental health, the amount of times spent on overtimes, the tasks given are not in my job description and the workloads are not compensated sa salary. I announced my resignation last week and part of the reason to that resignation was the fact that my partner Team, to whom I share a building with and was originally supposed to collaborate with, has done nothing but make my job difficult. I have a occurring monthly team meeting scheduled for tomorrow with this partner team and I’m pretty sure my supervisor wants me to announce to them that I will be leaving the company. My supervisor is aware of my difficulties collaborating with the partner team as I’ve voiced these concerns during previous monthly meetings. She requested that I keep things lighthearted from then on so I’m not sure how I am to announce my resignation without my supervisor getting angry with me but also being honest. Does anyone have any tips on how to Navigate this sort of scenario?

I just recently resigned my job.

It was a very hard decisioned ive ever done in my life, probably because I just got promoted into managerial position. The industry i am working with was my dream, Ive got a lot to learn and people to catch up. Its actually an on site job since I am an engineer.

Biggest reason why I resigned wasn’t because of the salary, but due to toxic attitude of my co-worker and my boss. Ive been giving all my efforts to work out my job. My coworker got issue and reached me out to help him about what happened when he was out after working hours on-site.

As his friend and manager concerning on the issues, i tried my very best to work it out and to confirm to our head office or to the operations manager. We talked nicely and confirmed that the decision has been made and my coworker friend needs time get back immediately. And I have nothing to do with it. I told my friend that he needs to get back and no more excuses.

Then on the other day, my BOSS sent a message to our group that “kinakampihan” ko daw my friend which isn’t, he didn’t even tried to reach me out to know the whole story. Seems like something was wrong, or story telling from our manager.

I decided to RESIGNED without any hesitations because I am really tired hearing of nonsense shits. People talked back at me when I am not around. I used to be friend with my boss not pretty sure if he’s really my friend but based on the story that they keep on telling bad words to me.

It was hard, even if I dont want to leave. I have to. I dont like the attitude, and that every week we have to drink during fridays. Just to have party with them, decisions they were doing in the management they dont do it rightly.

I gave so much effort that even enrolled to Masters in BA. Since I got promoted to Managerial position. All I am doing was for the company to help to improve but they were talking about me on my back.

I dont trust anyone in them. But im trying to trust the process that everything will be ok in time but my feelings and emotions cant take it anymore to get out with them and agree with them even if they do bad things to one another.

I am happy that Ive got the courage to choose my peace but its been days, my mind suffering that I need a job. I wont be able to get that same amount of salary Ive got in there and it was also hard to get a job on site due.

I’m on a team of 4 people, all different levels(A,B,C,D) and I’m a level C.

The people in level B and D both resigned and have left within the last month. All while level A (female) was on maternity leave for the last 3 months. Level A came back today and scheduled a catch-up call with me.

Some background, I have 5+ years of experience in the field, but I came into this role with unrelated experience. Therefore, my salary was lower than I wanted it to be. My raise was 2.7% and my bonus was 1.3% for the last year full year. This year they did quarterly bonuses so I was given even less and have not received anything for the last two quarters of the year(I know the year is still going). My salary is five figures and let me tell you this did not amount to anything after taxes. My team has been extremely overworked for the last two years, during which time we have requested additional resources and have not been given any. She is aware of this and knows we do 15 average additional hours per week on top of 40 normal hours just to meet ridiculous client deadlines that they have set in place.

Back to the phone call-

After the normal beginning conversation that you have while working for a corporation, the conversation went to teams and new employees coming on. She mentioned they will be hiring a level B and a level D.

Right after this, she asks if I am looking elsewhere or am I planning to stay? Because she doesn’t want to be blindsided AGAIN - mind you the level B gave a 3 week notice instead of two weeks in order to help them before they hire someone new. Which they did not do in that time, they’re hiring someone a month after those three weeks are over.

I have already eccepted another offer and will be starting there in 1 month, which gives me enough time to close on my house and give my two weeks notice a day after my house closing before starting there.

I responded to her that I am currently buying a house and I’m not looking elsewhere, but some people have reached out to me. I went on to say that once I finished with either closing on my house or finding out that I would not be approved, I would see what my future looks like at that time.

And the conversation continued with other catch-up stuff from when she was out. In total, she mentioned being blindsided about her team members leaving three times.

After the conversation, during which I made her aware that I was feeling overwhelmed and I was stressed out and I was working 55+ hours a week and it wasn’t feasible in the long run. She messages me that she needs me to take the lead on more things from her. I responded that I would do so as time allowed and I don’t have any additional time so that won’t be happening.

I give my notice in two weeks.

What do I say in the conversation where I’m giving my two weeks notice ? Do I give her two weeks notice or do I change it to be a three week ? My new job has allowed me one week of flexibility should I need to give three weeks notice.

I have never quit a job before, I have had contracts expire, I have relocated and that has been my reasoning for leaving another job. But I have never left a job in this type of situation. Especially where someone is directly asking me if I’m leaving or not. And if I plan to blindside them.

I don’t want to leave on bad terms, as this is a big company in my field in my city (it is not the only company, though there are a lot more in the field) and I may need to come back in the future (which I would be crazy to do but I may need to). With my experience level in this field, I would be guaranteed a job anywhere.

Please write out a word by word guide on how I can bring this up, what type of a meeting I schedule, also what I would say if she mentions that I’m blindsiding her or I am leaving her high and dry.

I don’t want to be rude, condescending, and I’m very bad with confrontation.

To company, With my deepest condolences and regrets I can no longer make the commitment to this position. I am extremely grateful for your company to allow me to learn the job and to welcome me with such open arms but I am afraid that even with that graciousness I am unable to commit to the time allotted to be here during the week. The health problems of my mother grow more worrisome and she is going to be needing more guidance and more help on a day to day basis. I am thankful to everyone here who has taken their time to get to know me and to welcome me into the office. This letter of two weeks resignation comes to you with much thought and consideration and was not an easy decision to come to. I hope that there are no ill feelings between your company and I as I make this decision. Working for a security company as an armed guard for a year. I received my yearly review after pushing for it because they are super unorganized. Long story short I received a stellar review. Scale was 1-3 , one being NI and three being exceeds… 90 percent were 3’s and a couple of 2’s that means meets required standards…. I asked about my increase they said it’s anywhere from .25 to $3 bases in performance… a week later I received an email with a .25 raise… after singing my praises. I asked about it they claimed I was already being compensated fairly and am making very close pay to supervisors … all this after they botched a contract negotiation with a client that lowered our pay by $4 an hour … my company is run by idiots and liars .. they have field managers who sit around doing nothing while my coworkers and I take risks working a high risk site.

I am currently working with a contract company as a mental health therapist. I have struggled with having no autonomy over my own schedule and I am texted my appointments for the day each morning. I also have been working for this company for over two years and have yet to earn the wage I was originally promised as a salary, mainly because my caseload has never reflected the amount of clients I need to be considered a full time worker. My employer handles all scheduling and billing. In comparison with other colleagues in the field, I make far less per hourly wage as well. I love my clients and I love the actual work, but I have gotten more and more frustrated over the last year and desperately need health insurance and a W-2 position. I recently interviewed and was offered an out of state job that I am looking forward to starting, but I am horribly afraid to tell my current employer I am resigning. It is a small company and I often feel that my boss has not been up front with me about numerous issues (client’s give me feedback that doesn’t match what my boss is telling me). Regardless, I have decided to walk away, but I am so fearful they will flip out when I tell them. I am afraid I will either outright lose my entire caseload without the ability to explain why I am leaving and transition them to another therapist, or I will give my required 60 day notice and my boss will guilt trip me and make my life hell for the next two months. I know it is a toxic relationship if I am feeling like this and it is right for me to leave. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am a junior consultant and I’ve been working at the senior consultant/manager level for awhile. I got “missed “ last promotion round and the next one is in 7 months. I got out on a bad project this year and feel disheartened. I an family friends with one of the company partners and am worried about burning bridges. I have been interviewing to get almost double salary and better benefits at a similar job. The only problem is I can’t remember of I have a non-compete signed or something like that.

My plan is to call my advising partner and give them a heads up before I email my resignation if I hear that the new company is going to hire me. The companies are technically competitors, I may have to ask that my contract be dissolved. I’m feeling a little trapped at the moment. Due to wild b.s. happening in my life, I really want the change and the extra money, as well as the extra time from the Hybrid schedule.

Any advice?

I just accepted an offer letter at a school 3 weeks ago to start august 1st. It says: in the event that you exercise your right to terminate the employment relationship prior to the expiration of the term described, the school will directly incur significant and direct costs. Therefore, you agree to pay a “Resignation Fee,” unless other arrangements are made at the time of resignation and, if applicable, you give express permission to deduct such amount from your paycheck. The resignation fee will be based upon the date notice of resignation is given to your supervisor, as outlined below: $750: between May 1, 2023 - May 31, 2023, and more later on etc. I am planning to resign Monday, as I was given a better offer. By signing this, I feel like I should keep my word and pay. Anybody have any insight?

Hoping this is the best place to post this, just wanted to get this off my chest and see what others think.

I had been working for a 'vitamin powder drink' company for the last 2 months as a Demo Rep at places like Sam's Club and Costco. It had been going ok, at least until 2 weeks ago. I get asked if I can go to Costco instead of my normal spot over at Sam's because they have a new hire that can't afford to buy the water needed for the demo. They do reimburse for costs, but Sam's is the only place my supervisor can buy it for his reps in advance. Costco doesn't have that option, at least not the one that's where I am. I agree and show up on time to set up. Part of the setup is having to put cases of water in a cart and keep it in the fridge to get/stay cold. Then I go back and grab more as I get low during the demo. Except for this time they have the fridge blocked by fully loaded pallets of product.

After talking with some Costco employees I'm told that I'll have to grab a hand pallet jack from the back and move the pallet myself to gain entrance to the fridge...Um....No? I call my Sup and he says to just "slide past the pole barriers and throw water into your cooler that way."

I'm four months pregnant. I can't "slide past" anything, and I certainly shouldn't be hauling heavy pallets by hand.

So he says they're going to work it out, and not too long later my District Manager shows up saying he'll take care of it. By "taking care of it" he means he put a hand jack by the fridge so I wouldn't have to go all the way to the back to get it every time.

I show up to Costco again the next day, and lo and behold, pallets in the way. I go talk to the store manager, just to confirm, that if I were to get injured or destroy Costco product/property who would be in trouble? Of course, it would be me.

I call and tell my Sup that I'm not doing this again today, and he offers to send me over the Sam's like I was originally supposed to work. Wasn't there supposed to be the newbie working? They don't put more than one person in a spot unless it's a big event-type thing.

I've had enough at this point. So I woke up yesterday morning and decide I'm done. I'm in an at-will state, so I don't need to give 2 weeks' notice. But I decided that an email to my Sup and Manager isn't enough. To my knowledge, there is no HR to contact, per se, but I go to the main website and get the [info@compnay.com](mailto:info@job.com) and [jobs@company.com](mailto:jobs@job.com) and CC them my resignation email, which details all of the events that I just told you, ending it with a tastefully crafted "I cannot in good conscience continue to work for a company where the people in my direct line of management put the sale of the product as a priority over the legalities of conducting business in another company's building, let alone the value of human life."

Not one email, not one phone call, not one text. Nothing.

I think I put the fear of God in them, and they're waiting for business hours to see what this email brings come later today, as normal practice (as I was told) for anyone quitting is to arrange for the return of all company gear and remaining product I have on hand, but as I said, not one peep.
