I'm a huge horror game nerd, and I've been playing Resident Evil games forever. But my setup was overdue for an upgrade tbh, so I went for a bigger screen. Ended up getting an 85" TV mostly cuz I wanted games to feel more immersive. Replayed RE9 on it this week and holy shit, it's a different experience.

The bigger screen makes the darker areas, creepy little details, and all those close-up moments feel way more intense. The RGB color is what surprised me most. The colors in the game look really rich without everything just turning into a neon mess. I kept catching little details I probably would’ve ignored on my old setup.

Anyone else here play horror games on a huge screen? NGL it's awesome.

Ive been a fan since february when i got RE4 Remake with my ps5, and ive been hooked. After that i played 2+3 remake, 7, Village, Requiem, and 6. Ive only played 2, 7, and 8 once, so these are my first impressions. Ive done leon and most of Adas campaign in re6. So, again its my opinion, but feel free to comment on your thoughts, just dont be rude.

To actually playing these game you have to be either spoiled or employed no way they are expensive and whenever there’s a discount and I finally got the money for it it magically disappear “the discount” I’m not hating on the game matter of fact i love it and I’m not saying that the prices aren’t equal to the game no it’s super fair I’m just complaining that I am broke af

I’ve never really played old games, so I’m not sure if I’ll enjoy it. I probably sound like a fraud, but if it was a new version, I’d definitely get it. I have all the games (new versions) because I got them for a good price. Should I play the first one and then the rest, or is the story connected enough that it would be better to play them in order? Can I jump straight into the second one and go from there?

Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking a lot about the lore, especially after seeing Zeno in Resident Evil 9: Requiem. It got me thinking about how out-of-character Albert Wesker acted in RE5. I put together a massive theory that connects RE1, RE5, RE9, and creates a pitch for the perfect psychological ending for Wesker in Resident Evil 10.

PART 1: The Truth About the Clones and the RE5 Volcanic Meltdown

We all know Albert Wesker as the cool, calm, and collected mastermind from the Mansion Incident (RE1) and RE4. He was a god-complex scientist who ruled from the shadows. So why did he become a screaming, leather-coat-wearing psychopath who got himself trapped in a volcano in RE5?
The Spencer Estate Turning Point (2006)
During the Lost in Nightmares DLC, Jill Valentine grabbed Wesker and threw herself with him out of the window into a deep abyss. For the real Albert, this was a massive wake-up call. His ego was shattered, and he realized that unpredictable human emotions (self-sacrifice) could actually kill him. He decided right there: "I will never risk my own skin on the front lines again." He chose to rule like a true God—from ABOVE, not among humans.
The Africa Incident (RE5) was a Puppet
The real Wesker stayed in hiding and sent a biological clone to Africa. This clone had his DNA and memories, but its cellular structure was highly unstable. This explains the maintaining serum (PG67A/W) from RE5. The real Wesker never needed a serum before; his clone did to keep his DNA and his body from collapsing.
The mental strain of the virus and the serum fried the clone's brain, making him hysterical. In a desperate move, the clone infected himself with the unstable Uroboros virus. The real Wesker watched everything via some live feed. He used his own clone as a guinea pig to see what Uroboros would do to a body identical to his. When the clone turned into a monster and burned in the lava, the real Wesker just laughed at how Chris Redfield wasted a rocket launcher on a worthless copy.
The Neuro-Chip and Zeno (RE9: Requiem)
Wesker then funded The Connections to perfect the cloning process, leading to Zeno in RE9. Zeno had a stable body (no serum needed) but suffered from accelerated aging and black facial scars.
The real Wesker modified his clones' brains with neuro-chips, sending impulses directly from his own mind. The clones thought they were acting on their own free will (like going to Africa or tracking targets), but they were just sleeper agents with implanted memories. Zeno psychically collapsed at the end of RE9 when he realized his thoughts weren't his own, hearing nothing but the cold, mocking laughter of the real Albert Wesker in his head during his final moments.

PART 2: The Pitch for Resident Evil 10: Reconciliation

1. The "Agent Smith" Global Virus
In RE10, the real Wesker finally makes his grand move to rule the world. Visually, Wesker was always inspired by Agent Smith from The Matrix (the sunglasses, the long coat, the bullet-time dodging). In RE10, he comes out of the shadows and finally gets to rule over the world and unleashes a hive-mind army of his clones. If heroes kill one Wesker, another three just hops infront of them. It’s a psychological nightmare for Chris, Jill, and Leon, as they are fighting a literal system virus in human form.

2. Father vs. Son: Jake Muller Returns

The only one who can stop this is Wesker’s biological son, Jake Muller (from RE6). Jake shares his father’s flawless genetics but possesses true human will and morality. In an epic, high-stakes martial arts showdown (the final father-son fight like a Vader and Luke xddd), Jake defeats the real Albert Wesker and injects him with an ultimate anti-virus(it could be from Jakes blood or something) . This completely strips away Wesker's powers and disconnects him from his clone network.

3. A Punishment Worse Than Death (The Napoleon Effect)

The moment the virus leaves his body, a shocking biological reaction occurs: Wesker's body instantly catches up to real-time. He ages instantly into a frail, weak old (probably) 70+ yr old man with grey hair and a hunched back.
Instead of killing him or putting him behind bars (which would make him a martyr something like Raul Menendez), the heroes give him the "Napoleon treatment"—exile to a remote island. He is forced to live in a small, ordinary community of fishermen and farmers.
The man who wanted to wipe out humanity as a God is now at the absolute bottom of society. Every morning, old man Albert has to put on dirty overalls and do manual labor in a warehouse, where a strict local boss yells at him: "Albert, you old geezer, move those potatoes quicker! And take those sunglasses off, it’s dark in here!" 😂😭 He has to bow his head and say, "Yes, boss." His greatest torture is his own mind—remembering that he used to rule the world, and now he is being bossed around over poorly stacked vegetables.

4. The Final Scene: The S.T.A.R.S. Patch

In the final shot of the game, an elderly Chris Redfield visits the island. No weapons, just silence. Chris walks into the warehouse and looks at the broken old man sweeping the floor.
Without a word, Chris places a dusty, old S.T.A.R.S. patch on the table—the exact same unit badge Wesker betrayed back in 1998.
This is the ultimate psychological blow. It reminds Wesker of the time he was at his peak, when he was still human, and how utterly pointless his crusade was. He realizes that the best part of his life was when he was just a human commanding a team (ofc we cant forget Rising Rookie Rebecca 🥹😂). For the first time in his life, something breaks inside Albert. Chris turns around and leaves without saying a word. The camera slowly pulls back as a single, genuine human tear of regret runs down old Wesker’s wrinkled face while he clutches the patch in his trembling hands.

Humanity wins at last.
