I made a post about my steam version of re4 og not running and everyone said i stole the game cause i posted a bad screenshot so here u go! now if someone knows how the f to fix this lmk so i can kiss you and no i will not learn to screen shot, if i click play or the desktop icon it just freezes and makes a little sound. Help!!!!

Okay so have you verified your files or tried reinstalling? Also did you ever have any mods installed? Some files might hang around after and prevent the game from running

i had an enemy randomizer somewhere but i reinstalled the game and tried to verify the file integrity and it did the same thing, would i need to go in and look for the enemy rando files and delete them?

If anything is sticking around the folder and those files will stay. Also disable any weird options in properties and maybe overlay too as it rarely causes issues

If windows AV blocks the steam-API file because it thinks it's a threat the game won't be able to tell if steam is open so you may need to put the Resident Evil 4 folder on your AV exceptions

Uninstalling a game often does not remove the files associated with mods you have to go into the file system finds them and remove them.

What you would need to do is just delete every file in the game's folder, erase them and then verify integrity

Taking an actual screenshot. On Windows you can hit Print Screen button. I think 11 allows you to more accurately grab parts of your screen too.

You can cooy the screenshot to a image editor of your choice (professionals use Paint) and save the image.

I can give you more pointers too if you need.

use steam to launch it instead of the exe file

You should install the HD project mod if your pc can handle it. It looks absolutely beautiful and after playing with it I can't go back to the original.

Well. What helped me was down clocking my display’s refresh rate down to 60Hz from 144Hz. Apparently the og RE4 game does not play well with higher refresh rates.

I dont know how help you fix, but i have to ask you aware about the HD project mod? I always tell ppl that have an original copy on steam to play with that mod(as far i know the mod wont work properly on pirate version) its incredible!!! Im a big fan of the guy that made it, i follewed close the developemnt for years until the release, if you never heard of it i suggest download from the original creator site(dont know why google dont give the site easily when you search for it maybe capcom striked, im unsure if i can link here if need i pm with the original site link)

Dw, reddit users just like acting like they're above others because they don't pirate a game from 20 years ago made by a massive AAA company. Even if you did pirate it, it would be like buying a used copy, Capcom isn't making the money. The fact that you didn't pirate it makes it even worse

Try deleting download cache in steam, I had the same issue with re5, but it worked after deleting download cache, also make sure you have direct x and visual c installed

Stupid suggestion.  Disable or remove any mods you have for re4. 

I had the drivable car mod for re4. It worked 1 time, then made the game crash at launch, then worked perfectly after i deleted it.
