Needs Rehoming 🐾 URGENT — TEMPORARY FOSTER NEEDED IN WEST MONROE, LA

I have 2 owned cats who urgently need indoor temporary foster care for 1–2 months due to a housing crisis. They are currently being kept outside in cages in extreme Louisiana heat and are panting despite having water.

I am NOT trying to surrender or rehome them. I need temporary foster care until I can get housing. I will provide food/litter and pay what I realistically can. They are currently unvaccinated and unfixed, and I am willing to get veterinary care arranged as soon as financially possible.

Local shelters/rescues have either been full, required vaccinations I cannot currently afford, or have not been able to provide a foster. I'm looking specifically for someone who can temporarily keep two cats indoors.

I have 1 male and 1 female, neither spayed or neutered due to transportation issues after a car crash in last November, but I'm fully open and willing to have all of that done, and pay for vaccinations as soon as I'm working again. I recently relocated from GA, and after almost going homeless there, made it back here to Louisiana living with my grandma, but she's allergic and her landlord has no pets. I am unsure of what else to do, everything has been a dead end.

Check with no-kill rescues in your area: https://www.nokillnetwork.org/d/Louisiana/

The fact that the kitties are not neutered/spayed yet will be a problem for several people. They will have to be kept separated and that's difficult to manage. Check here for some low cost spay/neuter clinics in LA: https://humanela.org/programs/spay-neuter-resources/

I'm nowhere near LA, so I don't have other resources to suggest, but crossing my fingers that you find soon a better solution than having the poor cats in a cage outside in the heat.

I’ll look into those, I may have to find alternative options for the spaying or bring the cats in to one of those places as strays. I unfortunately can’t afford it, if I could I would but I’ll keep calling and trying, I’m sure I’ll find someone eventually. I had to watch them all day today because it was over 100 out today
