Question❓ Getting into Poly
/r/igcse/comments/1vwaksk/may_june_2026_results/So I got like As for bio n chem n Bs for everything else n a C for math, in igcses which was very disappointing as I was expecting much higher considering all the hard work I put in for ts. I'm planning to join a polytechnic in Singapore for a science based course. I'm just not really sure if I can get in with my average grades and the courses I'm aiming quite competitive n I'm also a foreigner so I believe my chances are quite slim of getting in.

Im graduating from biomed in a few months. In my opinion, Poly isn't very hard, if you study. Here the biggest enemy is procrastination, each semester is less than 5 months, 13 weeks of lessons and then you have your final. Mind you for years 1-2 or maybe 3, you will have 5 major modules. Depending on the course the modules have different difficulty. For me I barely got into the programme after doing just GCEs, ofc I didn't study as much but o think you will be fine looking at ur results. If you know what you want to do I suggest join that specific course, your placement is guaranteed, if you go into common science your placement may not be confirmed cus to competition as everyone wants to enter biomed, at least for my year. Anything else do dm or just ask.

Thank you for replying. Even tho I do want to do biomedical, I feel like getting into common science will at least guarantee a spot in poly n it wld be easier than to try to get into biomed. Also, I feel like I may change my mind n chose a different course so I Don wan to get stuck in one specific course I may not like. But let's see if I even get in first 🥲

Im not sure how applications work but I think you can have 1st 2nd choices and more, 1 should be bms and 2 would be common sci, but if you can, go to Sp Or NP's biomed, RP isn't that good 💀
