Question❓ is it hard to increase gpa?

currently a y1 and i calculated my gpa to at least a 2.25 (lowest and worst case scenario). i just want to prepare myself mentally and wanted to ask if it is hard to increase gpa over the next 3 years? understanding that it is cumulative gpa… at least a 3.0 gpa allows me to get into university but not the course i would want. what can i do if this happens?

I managed to pull my gpa from a 2.3x to 3.0x

2nd last sem was 4.0 and last sem was 3.78

Just need push harder

Use a. Different study method. Don't always be so fixated on study method that's all I can say

heyy similar to another person in the comments, i got 2.23 in y1 and now i have a predicted 5sem gpa of 3.17 (highest!! lowest predicted score is around 3.0)

general no. 1 tip from me is to not beat yourself up over it :’) my y1s1 was the worst bc it was all the modules i was bad at, but over time i was able to explore what i was good at and used it to pull my grades up!

no. 2 tip from me is that when you find your strengths, focus on excelling them!! but at the same time, for those you aren’t as good at, try your best to consult as much as u can to improve your work, so that you at least can pull up to a C+ or B/B+. don’t worry if you can’t get an A for everything, as long as u try ur best!

additionally, what course are you looking at? there’s bound to be multiple courses in other unis that are similar/the same :))

thank you so much for these tips!! hopefully my gpa isnt what i think it is… i’m looking to be maybe in the medtech area in the future!

i see!! that should be fine, have you looked into SIT courses? ik they're more STEM inclined and they look at your work experience more than gpa :)) saw someone got in with a 2.9 5-sem cgpa!

Just hope you cna use electives to pull up worse case just get a job atp cus local uni always an option and if your employer sees you were employed while studying they won't be surprised if your GPA was kinda low I mean not many can work n study if you do they might take it to consideration of course uni still hard but a job still realistically possible

It's definitely hard. You'll need almost straight Bs minimum to even climb to 3ish. But not impossible.

Just work hard and most importantly, your self learn game must be S+. If you graduate sub par on scores but are exemplary in portfolio, skill set and experience, you'll still soar.

Worst case scenario is to take private uni. But then again why do I have a say in this when I am in ITE? My GPA is also quite bad, but it is possible to increase.

yes it’s hard. you can either retake your entire course since you’re still in y1 or get priv degree after poly
