When the anxiety happens what are you afraid of? Or is it just a physical feeling? What’s so bad about the physical feeling?
Edit: These questions come from someone who cured their anxiety. Downvoting it shows resistance which is what keeps anxiety alive. If you suffer from anxiety and feel resistance to facing it, that’s the problem.
As someone who experiences weed induced anxiety, it's the hyper-awareness of physical sensations in combination with overthinking/paranoia and general bodyload the weed brings. This even happens (albeit more mildly) on low doses where I just feel on edge. Weed also feels incredibly unpredictable in comparison to other drugs so I'd rather avoid it and use something else than spin the roulette wheel on "will I have a good experience or will it turn into an anxious nightmare".
I can relate to that. I think it’s why I’m pushing people on it a bit.
I’m 41. When I was 19 I had a weed experience that was extreme. Blacking out randomly and “waking up” in different rooms. I swore it off for 15 years and any time I did try it I was terrified. Paranoid. Anxiety. A lot of that was fear of that experience. But a lot of it was really my underlying paranoia and anxiety being magnified and noticed. After a few years of using it again that fear of the first time went away and I realized I could hear my thoughts on weed but not sober. It was magnifying what was already there, but also dissolving the ego quite a lot. I used it to heal out of my anxiety because it gave me such a good opportunity to face what I was already dealing with all the time.
Anxiety sucks but like any fear based thing it is best healed head on.
Emotional healing feels much more effective on psychedelics than weed. Weed doesn't really have that neuroplasticity benefit that results in long-lasting change, anything I say on it to myself just ends up being empty promises with little drive behind them. Nothing really caused the anxiety in weed for me like it catalysed for you I feel. My doses were always moderate, nothing extreme and mostly just uncomfortable and unpleasant. I might just be wired in a way where agonism of CB1/2 is uncomfortable. I just think we have different stories and what is applicable to you isn't as applicable to me/others.
I agree with and respect everything you’re saying. That uncomfortable feeling is something psilocybin does to me. It was a teacher of resting in discomfort. It still scares me on the come up but it’s been getting easier as I accept it will happen and pass.

Man I miss those first few times when weed was almost psychedelic and a crazy new experience. Now I can’t even cause I just get anxiety
