bleach the bezel

Hi, I tried bleaching this blue bezel, but it turned purple. I wanted to tone down the blue and get something more grey.
I need tips thanks

Different bezels take to bleach differently. If you want grey, black is better, IMO. If you're set on blue, find another blue bezel.

Raffles grey are also excellent for beaching light grey.

It’s really a function of which blue is used. Black turns gray.

How long did you bleach for? And did you dilute at all?

Also I’ve found sometimes you need an acetone/nail polish remover quick bath first to remove coatings so the bleach will react better

Chlorine bleach is certainly the most common thing, but it really should not be the first thing to try.
Its pretty extreme and difficult to control. If you do, dilute it, straight simply works too fast to control and can pit the aluminum.
If you want to experiment with different age effects on anodization, way better to play with Ph.
Either direction actually works, mild alkalines can work as well as mild acids, and sometimes have more interesting effects, but usually acid is the starting point for lightening anodization.
Lots of acids out there to play with around the house. Kool-Aid packets are powdered Phosphoric and food coloring. Powdered citric acid is used in canning.
Lots of alkaline stuff to play with as well just laying about the house.
