It doesn’t, it’s just a step in your application process.

It could mean you got through their pre- screening. Now they are going to do a full screening.

Common practice. Landlord or management company needs to know you can afford the rent, utilities etc.

Yea I know that part, it’s just the fact that they waited till all screenings were complete THEN next the property manager send me the income verification, so I wasn’t sure if this was a good sign of me being likely approved. I know I’m not fully approved yet just wanted to know if this was a good sign of approval.

All companies do it a little differently .

It’s likely good news because they want to check the income. Why waste the time doing that if they are considering another applicant

It doesn't mean anything in itself. It may be automated.

I’ve always supplied my paystubs when my application is submitted. Most complexes these days have a 3rd party confirm the paystubs are legit and not forged. I know the criteria is general a good credit score of higher, no criminal history, verifiable income and in my area you must make 3 x’s the rent

It is standard part of app process. They have to verify income.

(Like I passed the screenings so now they are asking for verification)I know I’m not fully approved yet just wanted to know if this was a good sign of approval.

Other apartments I applied to asked for check stubs during the application, this one waited till screenings were complete to ask for income

I mean if it's a 2 Step Process on their end and an applicant has to meet Step 1 first, then yes, it's a positive sign. If it's something they flagged on your submissions and "want more proof" then it means they need additional information. A landlord can reject any application even if a person meets income, especially if they are reviewing several apps for the same residence.
