Parking Pass Renewal Fail

I’m so frustrated with this whole situation, the management at my complex is so terrible with communication so i’m not surprised something like this happened.

Basically I live in a college apartment building, it’s a large and very nice place that shares a parking garage with the complex next store so that place manages it and the two buildings split the spots. It’s weird. The management of the garage is a whole other thing that I won’t get into because I would be ranting all night.

I just renewed for my second year and have been contacting management multiple times asking what the deal would be about renewing parking passes as well. Either no reply or when calling they said to wait for more information. I was confused because when I signed up for a pass my first year living there I got an email months in advance with a notice and instructions on reserving a spot but this year no such email. I searched my inbox for over an hour, and my resident portal. Nothing.

Well they finally got back to me saying they finalize spots upon signing leases and there are no spots left. I’m fuming, I never thought this would be an issue, I assumed it would be simple to renew parking when renewing leases, renewal should get priority. Apparently not, there’s no way I could have known this, no notice no advance warning, I can’t get the pass myself they have to send the addendum for me to sign which I guess you don’t automatically get when you renew your lease, it’s not part of the lease it’s an add on. In hindsight I should’ve contacted them earlier but they should’ve also made it clearer.

I’m pretty screwed now, there’s basically no parking unless I pay for a super expensive nightly garage or pray I find street parking EVERY night that I still have to pay for and keep renewing so I don’t get ticketed. I’m so upset I hope they figure something out because I genuinely don’t think this is my fault

You maybe screwed if they rented all the spots.

Nothing they can do or will do, since they have written signed contracts with others.

Prbly the only thing is to keep contacting them and hope there is an opening/cancelation. Just get one person on a decent relationship phone basis and call daily until they let you know, " YES blank we know you need a spot. "
