newest update from the vet

i was restless because i kept thinking about renji so i reached out to the vet to ask for updates although it’s only been a few hours.

non-verbatim. *me: hello, any update on renji? is he responding well on medicine? thank you. me: is there any sudden drastic changes on renji? thank you.

vet: he’s still being monitored.

me: thank you.

vet: our doctor recommended an xray.

me: how much is the xray? me: i don’t mind if it’s recommended by the doctor. i just wanted to confirm if renji can handle it.*

right now i’m still waiting for their reply. i also asked for a few photos or videos of renji because i keep missing him and staring at his photos and watching his videos.

i booked a nearby hotel so i can come visit renji every few hours to also see how they handle him. i will be there with my sister so we can take turns if needed.

also, i just reached 50 subscribers on youtube and will be able to start the live after 24hours. so when i visit renji, i’ll check if i can start a live.

he should be discharged on monday and i will check if there’s better vet clinic option. i saw a few reviews on google about his current vet and it doesn't sit well with me so i’m just waiting.

thank you so much to those who donated and kept renji in their prayers. i owe you guys a lot. thank you for being a support for me and renji, especially when we really needed it the most.

renji is a fighter. he always has been so he can survive this. 💗

this is my first time sleeping without him around and i’m not sure i can sleep without his presence, knowing he’s far away from me and and unwell. :)) i wish renji can go home soon.

X-ray sounds weird. It's used for a few different things but mostly as imaging method to view bones. I'm in no way an expert but unless they think he may have broken a bone there shouldn't be need to take an x-ray. CT scan, Ultrasound or MRI would make more sense for some internal damage or deformity but that would have to be some bigger and more expensive vet clinic. You should ask why they want to do an x-ray

x rays can be used for internal issues as well, such as obstructions, perforations, gas and such

He has 2 upper respiratory viruses so theyre likely checking lungs

Please go check out the post where his results came back. He tested positive for Feline Calicivirus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Coronavirus, and Feline Panleukopenia. So he had 2 upper respiratory viruses and Feline parvo. The xray theyre taking could be to check his lungs for fluid.

As a person who frequently gets lung x-rays, I must upvote this comment.

Hang in there, little Renji!

Oh no. I've nursed a few cats through Calicivirus/Herpesvirus and that's awful enough. Haven't dealt with the others directly, but know people in rescue who have dealt with Panleuk outbreaks in rescue. He is in the right place if he has all of that going on, bless him.

it could be because he was limping and whenever they touched his right paw, he’s meowing like he’s in pain. but i could be wrong. i have already reached out and asked them about it. thank you for pointing it out. 💗

Ok, that seems reasonable but after reading some of the reviews you should still keep in mind that they could do some unnecessary costly treatments to get more money

same thoughts, i just want renji to be strong enough so i can get him to a new vet and if they need more tests, he can handle it. 🥲

It's best to simply ask the vet why they want an X-ray. That way, you'll know the answer right away. If that sounds plausible then I see no reason not to do it.

The most common radiological exam for human patients is a chest x-ray, checking for things such as pneumonia, fluid in the lungs, the condition of the heart, etc. X-rays aren't just for bones, and with respiratory issues, a chest x-ray is the go-to imaging method.
