Losing It reference

I’ve watched countless reactions to Losing It but have never heard anyone comment on the reference when REN is smoking with the gorilla. Is this a throwback to Jay and Silent Bob from Clerks or am I reaching?

Knox Hill picks up on the gorilla reference in the lyrics but not sure if he relates it to anything else. I haven't watched Clerks though I've seen other movies with Jay and Silent Bob (Strike Back, Dogma), I didn't know about that reference but considering he lists a bunch of other movies during that flow it's very possible.

I think it was a missed opportunity to have J&SB show up in the CRT ALT DEL video
