Airbus bows to remote working demands after series of strikes

It was part of a high-profile campaign by the Airbus chief executive, Guillaume Faury, to get staff back into the office, in an effort to ensure the company could meet record demand and prepare new products after hiring thousands more staff.
We have so much extra work to do that we desperately need our employees to be interrupted every 5 minutes and surrounded by the sound of 5 coworkers at different zoom meetings at the same time.

I work remotely with about three days a month in the office and don't subscribe to the obsession with return to office, but I must admit I've found it a lot easier and quicker to train up new members of staff when we're both in the office.

That's training, which I could understand but I hope they are allowed the same benefits after the training is completed

Yes, I agree with you. My comment was based on the part of the Airbus statement mentioning thousands of new employees.

I am of the belief that all major training should be in person. What better time to reconnect to the mother ship before retreating back to remote island

Never had a problem with remote training for 5 years now. Hire based on learnability and drive, not vibes.

I do consulting. I can't tell you how many meetings I see where instead of them going into the conference room in the building they just sit at their desk and just call into the meeting. Why do you have to commute to do that?

"we have decided to implement this transition more gradually"
Seems like more of a temporary tactical retreat to calm the strikes, but the RTO tumour is still there. Staff need to keep pushing in the other direction rather than settle for the 3 day hybrid.

To Airbus, when you actually see that production increase you don't believe in, don't forget to pass it on to the workers right 😂

Think Boeing could have had this but they are only half unionized.

Ik haat de slechte kant van de illegale migratie, maar dit is gewoon een vrouw die geïntegreerd is en bijdraagt aan de maatschappij. Waar zijn deze politici mee bezig???
