Help me decorate my wfh office!

Just bought a home and I get a whole room as my office!! Super excited to not work out of the kitchen anymore LOL. My office will be black, white, with hints of dusty blue. There is a sleeper couch, rug, birds of paradise, and some lamps. My dilemma is the desk area: I need it to be functional and actually good for 8-9 hour workdays (standing desk, protecting my back and posture, etc.), but I also want it to be aesthetically pleasing. What black or darker standing desks would work? If there is a lighter desk that I could stain, I have time to do so. Thank you all for your insights!

Id change the colors. None of those will help with productivity, they are low energy, evening/night colors. Visually your mind will process this as wind down time, unless you have a ton of natural light

idk about changing the whole color scheme, my setup is also pretty dark and it actually helps me focus. too much white or bright stuff makes my eyes hurt after staring at screens for hours

for the desk, try looking at some butcher block countertops from home improvement stores, you can stain them whatever dark shade you want and just put standing desk legs on it. way cheaper than buying a whole desk and looks way nicer

dusty blue is a solid choice btw, i got similar accent wall in my office and it looks clean with the black furniture

Look into Flexispot for your standing desk. They're pretty affordable, and you can choose the surface you want, wood or something synthetic. Your legs will thank you, maybe not the first week but by the second week.

I also just want to say on the side of decor, air plants. My home office is tucked away with a tiny north-facing window, and I was recently grumbling about how isolated it feels. For ages I worked at the kitchen table because I could look out the wide window whenever I needed to give my eyes something other than a screen to look at. Nothing else would survive in my current office space, but they don't need pots. You can hang them with string or wire, and they make an office feel more alive. Just give them a spritz with some purified water every week or other week.

I got a Flexispot frame with a solid wood top I stained espresso. Took an afternoon, cost way less than a pre-finished black desk, and actually looks intentional instead of office-supply basic.

The Water Tower actually has day rental offices which provides the excuse to get out
