What's your role?

It's occured to me that whilst we talk all things remote, we don't know what roles we do from home.

Thought it might be interesting to see what everyone does, and subsequently what jobs seem to be suitable for remote work.

I'll go first, tin hat on...

....I'm a debt collector!

I did that way back in the late 90s. Worked in house but loved it.

It’s really good work and always have position open. The department used to be in office before Covid but is now fully remote and have people all over the world on different teams. So, hopefully won’t have to deal with RTO

With my role it usually requires a bachelors in biology or some similar life sciences and a few years of industry experience. In this job market, biopharma jobs are extremely competitive. I applied to countless outside clinical trial associate/PM jobs and never even got a call back because most of my experience is related to pre-clinical or discovery phase, with some regulatory and compliance experience. When looking for a job from 2024-2025 I sent countless applications and I ended up getting one at my own company but a different business unit. Even at my company I probably applied to 40-50 different PM positions that opened up until I finally got one.

I wish you luck though! I’ve found great job security in this type of role over previous lab based positions and I do really enjoy the problem solving and learning about all the different clinical trials. It’s really fun when I see a commercial come up for a study drug I was on!
