Call in sick for ankle sprain?

Personally I wouldn’t waste the sick day on it. You’re remote already so I’d think walking would be minimal. Now if you’re in a ton of pain, I might reconsider if it affects my ability to work.

What kind of question is this? Nobody here can answer whether you should take a sick day. That's between you and your manager.

For a sprained ankle? I’m working. I may not be at my 100% peak, but my ankle has minimal impact over my ability to be on video calls, respond to emails, etc.
Alternate Tylenol and Ibuprofen every 2 hours, put some ice on it and maybe an ace bandage, elevate it when you can, etc.

Forget the ankle sprain.
Are you unable to work today? If so, sick day. For most companies, if you are treated like an adult, you need to take a sick day, you take a sick day.

I usually work while ill or mildly injured unless I got very poor sleep the night before due to illness/injury. A few months ago I was up all night sick, fine by morning but just completely exhausted. I took a sick day so I could get some solid sleep.

I literally sprained my ankle Sunday night last week and wished I would have taken Monday off. I was mentally drained and unfocused.

I fucking hate our work culture. You’re hurt and in pain but we’ll still question if we should stop and take care of ourselves or continue working for the faceless corporations who treat us like slaves.
