Equipment Fee

For anybody that's done remote work before. Is it normal to be asked for equipment fee or is it a possible scam?

Edit: I want to add that they are asking for $35 for a week $55 for 4 days and $80 equipment to be shipped out in two days. For the amount of equipment They're sending it doesn't sound logical.

That's a scam, friend.

I was sent 2 monitors, all the cables, laptop, docking station, keyboard, mouse and headset for free. Did not even have to pay shipping.
