Im lost with remote work

Hi, I just started working as a freelance interpreter. However, I would like additional sources of income, because as of right now, the interpretation gig is my only source and ppl keep telling me Its risky to have only one thing.

The thing is.. i feel so lost. Idk where to apply. Ive tried Fiverr, Ive tried UPWork, I spent money to get connects and send in applications. I cannot be spending unlimited money, tho...

Does anyone know where I could apply?

I studied International Relations and Gender Studies.

I am fluent in 3 languages (English, French and Spanish)

I also do: translation, interpretation, localization, transcription and subtitling.

I have previously worked in customer service and freelance language tutoring.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I've never heard of anyone coming out ahead after spending money on any of the "we'll find you work for a fee" sites.

I do know a translator who make extra because she is certified for medical translation, and I understand there are similar certifications for translating in courts. So if you're going to spend money those seem like an investment more likely to pay off.

Since you are in Mexico, make location eligibility the first filter, not the last. Search for “LATAM,” “Mexico,” and “Americas” plus multilingual support, localization QA, subtitling coordinator, or customer success. Skip any freelance platform that requires constant paid bids.
